I haven't seen a thread about this.... but, I recently saw a preview for "The Beast"


hmm... rich, young, attractive male is an arrogant POS... meets mysterious woman, rejects her and bang is slapped with some kind of curse... a curse that can only be reversed if he is able to have another fall in love for his personality, looking past his physical disfigurement

REALLY! In 2010-2011 we have lost so much creativity as a society that we have to start borrowing almost scene for scene from Disney Animated movies.

Beauty and the Beast is likely my favorite Disney movie so this es me off.

I haven't heard of the movie, but based on what you've written, it sounds like an intentional take-off of BatB...less a rip-off than a deliberate riff that acknowledges what it's playing off of.

Yeah, it looks more to me like a modern adaption of the story not a rip off.

However, belgh this film looks like crap! So he gets wierd veins all over his body? How horriffic! :eek: :rolleyes:

That's what you call the modern "Beauty and the Beast". Actually I'm looking forward to watch it. Let's see if it is good.

Hehe...if you look at most of the Disney animated stories they aren't all that original. Most of them have connections to previously written fairy tales or other stories.

Disney does a decent job of adapting them, but they don't hold any rights to those stories.

As for this film? Um....well....um....the trailer just didn't do it for me.

Yeah, plus there was a television series as well...starring Linda Hamilton. I think it was Linda Hamilton...I only think of her as Sarah Conner from the Terminator movies now.
