Really depends on the camera and lens you are using. 15 or 20 years ago getting a shot on Pirates was truly difficult... I remember chasing particular shots, using f1.2 lenses and pushing the ISO to the limit at the time.... But now when you've got cameras that can do ISO settings you could only dream of in the past, and then use the camera for 4k video.... Most shots aren't that hard anymore you just shoot it in 4k video and the pull a still from your video. It won't give you enough pixels to make huge poster size prints but it will certainly work for what most people want.
