Television in Resorts

I just thought of something and if you recognize the guy on my avatar, you know who I am talking about.

For some reason in 1999, we were flicking through the channels on the TV in the resort and came across a man named Sam. Sam owned a couple of appliance discount stores and he told you about what to look for when shopping for new appliances. Of course this was a big advertisment for you to come to his stores and he would sell you whatever appliance is needed.
Now here's the strange part. Every single one of us had the "need" to sit there and watch this time after time. Every subsequent trip, we look for Sam to see how many more stores he has opened. Also, we looked to see how old his little girl is getting who on the first commercials we saw shouted "See it all and save!" but was barely understandable because she said it so quick and loud that it was distorted.

Does anyone else know what I am talking about?> Maybe your not sure and need some help. Well, here you go:

Anyone else have the need to sit there and watch him tell you why porcelin is best for a washing machine? AM I JUST STRANGE?!? :hammer:

i watch him constantly. my wife however believes that i am completely insane. She doesn't understand my fascination with the little chinese man yelling about appliances. I watch as though mesmerized. When we first get to the room, i HAVE to find him. While we're getting ready to go to the parks, i watch him. when my wife is in the shower, i watch him....i'm bookmarking all of those links to get my fix!!! maybe i AM insane...but DARN it....

I LOVE APPLIANCES!!!! :sohappy:

I love the avitar! I was so facinated with those really funny Appliance Direct commercials I held my camcorder up to the TV and taped the whole thing so I could watch it whenever. It was only when I got home that I found out they have a site with the videos online.

Seriously, you win my best avitar award :lol:

P.S. "Have you ever seen a plastic toilet? Why not? White Porcelin. No resedue in your wash tub." :lol:

I think Sam and his wife that likes to smack the truck have a bit of a cult following!! I am sad to see that their daughter is not on the video links (I couldn't watch them completely until I got home from work) :( because the whole family needs to say "See it all and SAVE!!!"

BTW, I was thinking about this and I have seen a plastic toilet. Nov. 2003 Norwegian Sun. My stateroom had a hardened plastic toilet mounted to the wall (and it was a super power flush type). I have also seen a stainless steel toilet but he doesn't mention whether or not stainless washers are good or not. Sam, whay must you torture me!???! :lol:

I've seen stainless steel toilets (airline toilets) and stainless steel washing machine tubs (on the top of the line Maytag washers). So does Stainless Steel leave resedue in your wash tub?

Another question, he never actually says what a real despenser is. So how do I know that I have a plastic cup that dumps everything in the same place at the same time?

I know when I dump my bleach in to the cup on my Maytag Stainless tub washer is drains out and into the clothes. I must have "a piece of junk"! :(

I'm sure Sam or his truck slappin' wife (**SLAP "SAME DAY DELIVERY!" **)will be glad to explain and show you what a catalyst washer dispenser looks like! :lol:

Family Auto Mart is 2 fat, ugly as sin brothers, who are complete rednecks, performing skits and thinking they are funny, trying to sell used cars.

One of their scary phrases is "fixin to learn ya". As a native Ny'er, I have no clue nor any concern to figure out what that means.

One of the guys does cartwheels all the time too. And some of there skits are borderline racist. I don't think they mean it that way, they are just too stupid to comprehend this :lol:

For instance, they opened up a new location in Kissimme, which is a big Spanish speaking area, so they have one of the brothers introducing the NEW manager of that location, who proceeds to speak in all spanish. When he is done, the brother looks into the camera and says "and burritos and nachos too" with a big redneck grin on.

They dressed up as Mexicans as well and danced around hats. They also make fun of rednecks or celebrate them, I can't tell :lol:

Andf finally, they have a special Xmas version of the commerical, where one is Santa and the other is a reindeer.

If you think Appliance Direct is weird, you ain't seen nothing yet

Yes that is good, but you are an Eagles fan, so you aren't that much higher on the toem pole than a redneck :lol:

We could go back and forth about Eagles vs. Giants all day but I think we can agree on 2 things:

1 - Redskins (team should be changed to Rednecks)
2 - Cowboys S.U.C.K!!
