For a limited-time, Takumi-Tei will be offering a 4-course version of their 7-course Omakase menu, with a price point starting at $150 for either the Omnivorous or Plant-based option.

Details:
For a lighter experience, try the "semi" course option, which features smaller portions of the same or similar offerings as the full course. Chef selections may include seasonal sashimi, crafted hassun, prepared inaniwa udon noodles, deep-fried tofu, mini zucchini tempura and more. Each flavor is a delight for the palate, and anticipation of the chef’s choices is a major component of the experience.

Good Move.

I've really enjoyed all the times I've gone here. If a pared down menu makes it more accessible for guests then it's win.

I still think they would do a lot better reverting back to the Ala-cart menu from pre-covid. A lot of the current pre-fix menu may still be too "extreme" for guests.

Better yet offer eliminate pre-fix menus property wide. Impose a cover charge if table sitting is an issue.

I agree with @monothingie that a lower price option is probably a good thing.

I'm curious, if you have one "splurge" meal in your plans: Takumi-tei at $250 (plus park admission), or Victoria & Albert's at $295?

I did both on back to back nights.

Both were excellent. V&A is a completely unique wonderful experience, not even in the same category. (Not to take away from Takumi-Tei.)

I completely agree about V&A. The Michelin Guide Service Award that Israel got was well deserved, he did something special there.
