Inspired by the spirit and tradition of Disneyland, this quaint theme park will embrace the spirit of dreams, happiness, and imagination throughout our seven themed lands. Here you embark into worlds of fantasy, thrill, and joy as you step into these elaborate stories waiting for you to discover. At Sydney Disneyland, the hopes and dreams of every generation will coincide together in this tapestry of ingenuity.

Sydney Disneyland is an envisioned park of an amalgamation of
eclectic imagineers that was constructed in Club 32 back in early 2017. After almost 5 years sitting on the shelf, this RESTORATION project will seek to reignite the creative energy of the day, while presenting the park in its holistic interpretation to a contemporary audience.
MSqePtX.jpg

Throughout this journey, will will cross into the seven themed lands of Sydney Disneyland. Beginning in the tranquil forests of Fantasia Gardens, our adventure treks through the untamed and natural beauty of classic Walt Disney animation, while Fantasia Castle beckons us to continue our journey forward to an illustrious green hub.

It is here that we can branch off into various timelines and stories. Traversing clockwise around the 93 acre park, we are met with the bustling streets of turn of the 20th century San Francisco and the Pacific Wharf. After trekking to the furthest western point in Americana we proceed towards Frontierland, a colorful western setting that combines the thrill of the gold rush, with the comfort of southern cuisine. Beyond the waters north lies Adventureland, a harrowing quest to explore the seven seas of this world.

Storybookland embodies the classic fairytales of old told through immersive and enigmatic locations that place you in the middle of those stories. With every story, there is a villain, and nestled next to Storybookland is the harrowing and insidious Shadowsland. Home to Bald Mountain, this mature setting counteracts Storybookland in both genre and amenities.

Concluding our grand-circle tour of Sydney Disneyland, we arrive in the vision for the future - Tomorrowland. This experimental land is a niche mixture of realism and fantasy, sure to entice the most devout science-fiction enthusiast.

-------------------------------

Throughout our adventure in this park restoration, we'll stop and meander at all the details, and even look back at the 'What Ifs' of the community brainstorming that lead to this ultimate creation.

Hope you enjoy this journey through Sydney Disneyland Park!

What was...
club32revised-png.200486

A spin on the 'Club 33' at Disneyland, Club 32 was an open-brainstorming exercise lead by several members back in 2017 namely @TheDesignPirate @Brer Oswald @Disney Dad 3000 @D Hulk and many more as you will see throughout the restoration credits, that got together to originally design a 'Fantasyland' from scratch.

It soon became apparent that there were too many ideas at hand for one land!

An early draft of the 'Fantasyland' by @kap91

2017-04-12.png

The decision was then made to expand out into an entire park - and thus after weeks leading to months of brainstorming - Sydney Disneyland Park was formed.

The legacy of Club 32 continued on afterwards as newcomers (at the time) such as @DisneyFan18 @Pi on my Cake @Outbound and more - began a new 'club' 1902 Carthay Circle, in an attempt to replicate the magic of open-brainstorming for a theoretical 2nd Hong Kong Disneyland Park.

SYDNEY DISNEYLAND OVERVIEW

Sydney Disneyland Resort would be the first Australian Disney Resort and 4th continent Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. With the international hub of Sydney a stones throw away from the resort, this resort will not only be a haven for locals, but also entice travelers from populated Asia countries to the north, as well as tourists from all of the world.

Our intentions with placing it in Australia went back and forth, but ultimately this located provided the best combination of land and available tourism market upon inception. @Imagineerland was instrumental in the design process of the resort as a whole, hypothesizing each element of what would be an entire Sydney Disneyland Resort, not just a Sydney Disneyland Park.
343.JPG

This location is about 35 minutes south of downtown, the same distance that Disneyland Paris is from Downtown Paris, and is relatively close to the airport. It is essentially the same square area as the Tokyo Disney Resort.

Advantages
- Hotels and transit isolated down by the main road to keep north resort road free.
- Ability of the Retail zone to open with a phase 1 to lead to first park, and a phase 2 to lead to second park.
- Service core in the back corner between the two parks, isolated from public zones.

PROPOSED RESORT
- Sydney Disneyland Park (1st park)
- Disney's Pangaea (2nd park)
- Sydney Springs Shopping District
- Unnamed Deluxe Resort
- Unnamed Value Resort
- Monorail Transportation

- Disney Cruise Line extension in Sydney Harbor

FANTASIA STATION
7636872038084270782%253Faccount_id%253D9

As you walk through the Concert Hall dining entrance and towards the train station, the railroad steam engine blows and rings its bells as it approaches the lofted station on the second level. Below the train station are two 'curtains' with a floral Mickey designed in the grassy area between them. As guests go through bag/ticket check, they can choose between one or two curtain entrances to walk through to the park, as they are the cinematic stars of this show.

Upon entering under the train station, guests are immersed in the worlds of Walt Disney's Fantasia. Music plays a vital role in this park, guiding the guests through each experience. Music was something that everyone from @FigmentPigments to myself wanted for this entire park, the essential aspect of background music.

Guests board the musical railroad that takes a clockwise grand-circle tour of Sydney Disneyland, making stops at Frontierland, Seven Dwarfs Mine in Storybookland, and the Autopia Station in Tomorrowland. Before returning to Fantasia Station - guests enter the Rite of Spring tunnel, which is a diorama show based on the classic scene from Fantasia.

WHAT IF?

COLONIAL STREET
An early design in Club 32's brainstorming for the entrance to the land was something that would feel 'Disney' but also allow the park to feel quaint and charming. Colonial Street, themed after a New England seaside town, was an initial inspiration for this opening land.

1829886720856170374%253Faccount_id%253D9

420110573897218473%253Faccount_id%253D9

1 - Colonial Street Train Station
2 - Restaurant, Table Service - Oyster Bay
3-9 - Winthrop Market - a walk-through quick service venue with seating and an eclectic variety of small eateries
----------------------------
3 - The Thinking Cup (coffee shop - not Starbucks haha)
4 - Maria's Pastry Shop
5 - Deli Quick Service (name tbd)
6-7 - Indoor seating, with outdoor park seating in the adjacent courtyard
8 - Chocolate Shop (name tbd)
9 - Johnny Appleseed Fruit Market
10 - Ale House (seaside bar - still debating on this)

The point of the right side of Colonial Street is to have the eateries. Guests on high flow traffic days can walk through all of the eateries (aside from 10 actually if its a bar) pick up their morning coffee and pastry, and then enjoy the park. Or if they are coming in the afternoon, grab a sandwich and go.

The purpose of the left side of Colonial Street is to "keep" guests in the park with Storytime with Ichabod Crane and Rip Van Winkle shows in the courtyard park, shops, and more so guests also buy stuff on the way out. These all connect as well keeping guests inside them and also helping traffic flow for exits.

11 - Storytime with Ichabod Crane
12 - Windwagon Smith Shop
13 - Seaside Flower Shop
14 - Olive Oil Shop
15 - Blacksmith and Armory
16 - Map Shop (with S.E.A. references)
17 - Clothing Shop
18 - Large Clothing/Memorabilia Shop
19 - Parade Exit
20 - Barber Shop
21 - First Aid/City Hall/Information

22 - Restrooms

The popular consensus though from the group led us towards Fantasia, because it offered more of what everyone thought would make a unique opening land. Especially with the Colonial theme seen in Liberty Square and the original expansions for Main Street USA in Disneyland, CA.

DISCUSSION - PARK OVERVIEW & FANTASIA GARDENS
Much of what made Club 32's dynamic flow was the floor was always open for feedback and discussion. Even if folks were just passing by, we'd always try to include each other and get different perspectives throughout the process. Granted, sometimes that would slow us down creatively, but ultimately I think it led to the best and most consensus filled project possible.

So now with this project being restored and rewritten for this present group of imagineers - here's the floor open for feedback and discussion! We have 6 lands to go and we'll follow this format throughout so feel free to chime in what you liked/would change!

First of all, I can tell you guys put a lot of heart into this, especially with all the hand-drawn and computer-generated images/maps. So it’s neat to see it all re-presented!

I guess I sort of lean with what the team decided. Fantasia Gardens offers lots of opportunities to meet Disney characters while focusing on a legendary Disney film. Colonial Street was a neat idea. However, with the other Americana lands in the park, it is sort of nice to have something that Australia 🇦🇺 could take pride in.

And my first crack at the potential international park ratings will give us some insight as to how high on the list Disney might be considering Australia. So stay tuned…

You say that, and I am immediately reminded of a concept @MANEATINGWREATH devised for his 2016 Dream Resort: The Badlands, an entire land set around the Australian Outback. Maybe an entire land devoted to Australia could be worked into this new version of the park? I can easily foresee this replacing Pacific Wharf, thus leaving Frontierland as the only American-set land.

I think Old Australia would make for the best choice, e.g. Sydney Harbor at the turn of the century.

And that's definitely one of the reasons why the surrounding resorts, downtown area, and 2nd park would take more of the cultural aspect into account! A Sydney Harbor concept was discussed at one point for the entrance land, but it eventually made its way to the future 'Sydney Springs' district.
