Success rate of requesting specific building at CBR?

this, of course, instead paying for preferred room.

Just looking at options and know that a lot of people have had success in asking for and getting rooms right across the bridge from Port Royale. We were in Barbados last visit and it was a hike that maybe we don't want to repeat.

so what do people think? 50/50 chance? better? worse?

If I am not mistaken the buildings you want (45 and 51) are classified as preferred rooms. The only way you can guarantee those is to book in the preferred category.

You can still book standard and request those buildings, but the chances are kind of slim that you will get them.

If you do not want to pay the extra money for a preferred room I would book standard and have your first request be for building 45 or 51. Put your second request as building 52, 44 and 46. They are not as good as 45 and 51, but they are far better than the rest of the resort and there is a fair chance you will be put in them.

When you check in, look at your location. If you are off in the middle of nowhere, see if they can relocate you to something closer to the bridge.

correct, the request would be for the closest non-preferred rooms. I think if we went CBR again we would go with the preferred rooms, but I was just curious mostly about the success rate. Thanks!

The success rate is all over the map and will quite literally change from day to day. Not only will the occupancy rate of the resort have an affect, but how the rooms have been booked will affect it is well.

If all the preferred rooms are booked, then the chance of you getting into a preferred room with a standard booking is zero.

If it is booked at 60%, then they will be inclined to upgrade people to preferred, as it is easier to have buildings as close to full as possible.

Aruba and Jamaica are not preferred. I've had 100% success securing family vacations in Aruba 52 and for 8 years have been able to secure 47ish rooms in Jamaica 45. (class trip)

On our last trip the first week of Dec. 13' we stayed at CBR. I requested a ground floor room closest to the food court & we were put in Trinidad North.( I believe that's preferred but, we didn't request preferred) Not a bad walk & close to the main pool!
