Star Wars Launch Bay coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios later this year

Will this building be destroyed during the expansion at any stage?

On the map that @marni1971 once posted regarding DHS expansion, the Animation/Launch Bay building was in the "Phase 4" plans. "Phase 4" is blue sky and currently unfunded, so there's no reason to count on it happening. But if it does eventually get approved, it's possible that the Animation building could get torn down and replaced versus just being repurposed again.

Yes, it absolutely is. That whole area will be open to Toy Story Land.

I've seen others say that the OMD and Pirates building is going and that will be the entrance to TSL. That is true to an extent, but that whole area from the Pirates building all the way around the Animation Courtyard to the Launch Bay will be open as the entrance to TSL.

The Animation Courtyard will remain, but the shops will be gone (replaced by shops in the same proximity, actually back more towards the Launch Bay building) as will all of those buildings, including Pirates, OMD and Mermaid.

....and I'm not sure, but I don't believe it would be possible to tear down just OMD and Pirates without tearing down Mermaid and the shops. Idk, but they seem to be all one intertwined building.

It's interesting to hear, but this seems to be inconsistent with what others have said. IIRC, either @marni1971 or @Lee said that the VOTLM was being replaced by a new (non Toy Story) IP.

Tearing out OMD and Jack Sparrow combined with the existing breezeway seems to me like it would provide plenty of space for an entrance to TSL.

Anyone seen the Disneyland version of the Launch Bay? Is it the usual twice as nice as anything offered in FL type thing when it comes to each coast getting a similar thing or is it pretty much the same?

I saw the DL one, about two weeks ago, and from the pictures here, it looks pretty similar to the DHS version. Same props, etc... slightly different layout because of the building configuration. It will be interesting to see the differences when I'm in Orlando next month.

I was at Disneyland the week it opened. The one at Studios is better themed. They have the same or similar props and it was more open. they didn't have Jawas/ Greddo roaming the cantina area like the do here instead they had a meet with Boba Fett the same area.

I'm hoping/assuming we'll get Boba Fett here as well. The Cantina is obviously set up to have any sort of Star Wars characters appear.

What baffles me though is that there's an actual queue set up for Launch Bay...what? And FastPass+ scanners at the entrance to the building...WHAT!? Why are you making people queue up 20 minutes to watch a 10 minute fluff piece about how much people like Star Wars?

I'm sorry, so the premises of your argument are that 1) Bob Iger is responsible for concept art, 2) concept art is tantamount to a promise, and 3) concept art always looks exactly like the final product. Give me a break.

Also, it DOES look like the concept art.
(In your less-than-humble opinion)

1) It wouldn't be presented by Bob if he didn't review and sign off on it.
2) Right, a promise is what again?
3) If it is less than 90% peanuts, it isn't peanut butter.

What do you think concept art is? They're not architectural drawings. They're not a statement of work. They're not an offer of goods or services. They illustrate a concept, as in "here's the general idea of what we're going for." They're propaganda. Marketing material.
