Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

They left the space... and it is so obviously missing. One would think it is at least still planned or they would reclaim the footprint. Right?

Well, they've clearly left the "option" open for the future. My question is more whether that mindset is "here's space we can use in the future for a table service restaurantif we ever decide to do it" versus "we are definitely still planning the TSR but it will be in the second wave of stuff with the roaming droids once crowds get better" or something like that.

Still think a sabaac parlor would be a good fit somewhere on Batuu:

Just a guess, but, I would think that it is wise for Disney to not have a TSR in the land until the initial human tsunami settles down a little. They don't need anything there that will hold up people from moving on and out right now. They can have sufficient areas to feed people outside of the land for now. Later, when it becomes more manageable they can then build it and it will be considered an additional "Attraction" in the land. In fact, they can be continuously building it after they open and no one will know until they are ready to make it public.

Wonder if they could do it legally.

Yea, they could call it the Han Solo card game parlor. :bored:

From the state statute definition:

GamblingPlaying or engaging in any card game or game of chance, at any place, by any device, for money or another thing of value.

Gambling is illegal in Florida outside a casino on a reservation.

Ever tried to play poker without money at stake? Without the thrill / fear of consequences the game is meaningless. Saba acc is designed to be the SW version of that. The appeal is the risk and reward.

I just don’t know how it would really work without stakes.

Actually I was refering to the fact that legally they don't have the right to use the name sabacc. That's why the sabacc game in the stores is called the Han Solo card game. Unless something has changed, I don't think they could use the name even if they did the game for fun.

What? I did not know that.

I read online that Lucasfilm eventually acquired the trademark for the name Sabacc.

Playing an authentic Star Wars game in an authentic Star Wars place might be incentive enough. There was mention that the land has some some flex-spaces built into it that could be easily modified for quick tie-ins with whatever is going on in Star Wars at the moment.

As for the name Sabacc, they are using it on the packaging:

Here's a link to the game's history, and the (resolved) issue with the name rights towards the bottom:

Anyone know if someone captured the video loop on display at the Galaxy's Edge booth at SWCC?

Watching skywalkingthroughneverland's interview you can see it playing behind them:

You can see some new details in the footage. Doug Chaing is seen checking out some full sized props including the object SWGalaxysEdge dentified as our escape pod:

You can also see that along with the large tie to the left (impressive, but not actually full-sized) that we will see in the hangar, there are some smaller fins (behind the lady below) that make me think we may see some as forced-perpective elements elsewhere:

This model of the shuttle that will take us up to the Star Destroyer had a working door mechanism seen here:

I know there's been some sight-line concerns (Muppets) but there's still a good deal of planting to do. I've identified where this is still to occur here in green from Bioreconstruct's newest aerials:
366721

Also, the area is red seems to be where the Resistance Supply will be located as the rocks behind it match the concept art even though the location in Anaheim is closer to ride entrance. There's a space blocked out opposite the exit path that could also house the ODV, or may serve another purpose (strollers?:()
At the orange triangle, you can see the landing gear mounts are ready for Poe's X-Wing. This I believe also confirms my speculation of the Blue X-Wing as you can see the same three mounts in the location I've marked blue. Not exactly sure where the A-Wing will be, but I believe it's always been assumed to be seen right when we emerge from the entrance tunnel by the ruins.

The green area with a question mark in it is surprising as there does seem to be a split in the path. In this pic:

We can see they've already prepared a more roundabout route (Savi's Path?) that curves along the berm. There will certainly be a more direct route to the Marketplace/Restroom building, so I do believe there will be an island of trees where all that equipment is currently placed. This area really shows the differences between the East Coast and West Coast lands, and I'll leave it to you guys to argue (endlessly) about which is better/bigger/higher/further/faster/flavor blasted, etc.

A Wing will be near the attraction entrance. Poes X Wing is adjacent to the shuttle entrance, within the queue. There is indeed a split in the path as you said.

Thanks for the split confirmation.
I'd marked the location of Poe's X-Wing in orange. It's on a bit of a riser from where guests will pass into the shuttle. There's been mention that we'll see or hear the X-Wing firing up. While there's been no mention of a Poe animatronic, it would be neat if there was some way to create the illusion of him in the cockpit giving us a thumbs up before launch. Or could we see BB-8 in his position atop the ship?

I wonder if you will leave the breifing room and walk directly into the waiting transport ship. I would imagine the illusion would work best if you go from indoors out and directly into the transport ship. This way you don't stand outside and watch countless people load the transport ahead of you without "taking off" only to enter the ship and "take off" with far less people than you saw enter. (does that make sense? it did in my mind). It seems, at least to me that this outdoor section will be its own show scene not just another holding room, thus allowing for a sequence of events to take place such as Poe's fighter preparing for take off as you suggested. It would be very Star Wars like to receive a briefing and then load a transport in a hurried pace (obviously they wont let you run to the ship as one would in the movies). Just my thoughts sorry if this has already been stated/ confirmed, I've followed this thread closely but couldn't be sure if this had been stated before.
