TBH they could criticize the importance of food over attractions, plenty do. Hence my comment of the gravy train hes not a creative person he is just a project manager if he quit he could be a project developer for some resort in the world, or some hipster mall. Get paid more and not in the public eye - a better position.
We will just have to agree to disagree.

I seriously doubt he'd make more money developing shopping malls. The reality is all of the design, development and implementation is driven by the guy at the top and the board. There hasn't been anyone truly creative fighting for the parks in over 20 years and it's only gotten worse in the last 12. I'll be really surprised if the whole Millennium Falcon experience is more than another spinner with little Falcons on the arms and some screens on the wall for you to yell Pew! Pew! at.

Man, I guess I'm the only one who quite likes NFL's theming INCLUDING Beast's Castle. I actually prefer it to what's been shown of the Tokyo version; there's something magical and enchanting about seeing the castle from a distance; like it lends depth to the area (even if the scale isn't perfect.) Plus I just love the rockwork
New Fantasy Land is beautiful. Loved before during the daytime and when the sun went down for the evening. I wish TSL would look this good.

You are not the only one.

Concerning Falcon, I'm going share this post by @BrianLo:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...ogress-specifics.910927/page-204#post-7652528

I haven't seen this totally confirmed, but the logic here makes everything click. Read this for some very good thinking on ride length, loading, and capacity. Could be wrong, but I find this by far the most credible discussion on the topic I've seen yet.

Thanks, I think @marni1971 has since clarified it's 7 RV's somewhere.

I love this area too, as does my entire family. :)

Did Beatty really say, "This is the most ambitious project Ive ever seen in the HISTORY of WDI"? "On a scale that is unprecedented".

Most ambitious project ever in the history of WDI? Dont get me wrong, Im sure SWL will be great, but it is a "land" that will have 2 attractions, some M&G's and some places to eat . Does Beatty not believe that the construction crews and Imagineers of the past who were tasked with building entire parks (MK, Epcot) in the middle of a swamp were not as ambitious as his team that is working in far superior conditions?

I believe it is completely disrespectful to the Imagineers of the past to make that comment.

Take Harry Potter lands with the building of movie like 3d sets all the year around for park goers to immerse themselves, Disney aside from maybe Cars Land/Avatar which doesn't feel like that, is the first time they have done that.

Pardon, but Im a bit confused by your wording. This is the first time Disney has done what? "Build 3-D" sets?

I don't believe he's comparing it to the building of entire parks.
I believe that he meant, since the parks were built.
As in, additions to the parks.
What they are saying about SWL implies more than the usual meet and greets and places to eat as is normally done.
They are claiming that the immersion with the characters will be much more.
I'm getting the impression that SWL will be staffed with a certain amount of people in character all the time.
The impression that you are entering an inhabited land.

Like a movie set, they h the movie set designer for Harry Potter in to accomplish the lived in world, same seems to be true of Star Wars. Cars Land feels that they took liberties and no actually creating a 3D set to explore but took liberties in creating it.

If they were really being ambitious they would have built an iconic location from the movies rather than coping out on a "new land" so that they didn't have to live up to expectations.

The imagineers and the guys at Lucasarts gave a solid reason for making it a new place, vs rehashing an existing location at the panel at Star Wars Celebration.

The short version is we already know what happened at Hoth, Tatooine, Yavin, etc and they already have an established history and expectations. By creating a new land they create a new chapter to the story and can start from a blank page.

Star Wars doesn't really have many iconic locations that are well suited to a theme park land. The most iconic are probably the interior of the Falcon which we are getting and the Mos Eisley cantina which we are getting a version of. Star Wars has always introduced new locations for each movie, and they continue to do this, so this is something the fans are used to. The key is bring into the new land the elements that will give it the Star Wars feel, so it doesn't make a difference if it's a location we have seen on screen or not.

I much prefer a new place which exists and extends the lore rather than relying on a place which wouldn't allow for real world weather conditions. E.g. Tatooine it never rains.

Hopefully I'm wrong but with the way budgets and concepts change at Disney today it wouldn't surprise me to find out this just allows them to reuse the old "cabanas" from MK as shop tents in their newly discovered intergalactic flea market.
