Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I'm sorry if this has been announced, but does anyone have any info on an opening date or even month, year..for SW Land and TS Land to open?

2018 for TSL possibly summer if I read correctly! And for SWL it's mid to late 2019 in Florida! Early 2019 at DL

The current estimates are SWL - Late summer / fall 2019 for DHS. TSL - Summer 2018 but these are not official announced dates.

It's funny how there are always large yellow arrows attacking the park when bioreconstruct takes pictures.

I know it's been rumored that Disney is working on special interactions for SWL but I had a source tell me that Disney is working on an animatronic Wookie that will walk around SWL.

Not sure why they would bother when it's simpler to just have an CM in a suit.

Cut labor costs? They don't have to take as many breaks too probably. It's just a rumor. I'm sure they are working on a ton of interactive stuff for this land. What all goes through who knows.

You would still need a handler with the animatronic and probably at least one operator behind the scenes. Combine that with maintenance costs it's probably more expensive then a person in a suit.

The advantage I would see in having an animatronic would be to try to have more realistic facial movements rather than just a standard costume head. But other than that I feel like there's a lot of other SW characters that would lend themselves better to an animatronic that could walk around over a wookie.

so, the TSM ride will be pretty much encroached and there is going to be a "hard wall" between formerly Pixar place AND Star Wars.

The area is large, but this angle does distort the view making that area look dramatically larger then the rest of the park.

This is a question that just popped in my mind although I'm pretty sure it has been answered before (sorry if that's the case): what will happen to Star Tours after SWL opens? Will it stay as it is, away from the new land, or will it be rethemed?

At a guess it will get a retheme, it will be outside the SWL area for it to stay tbh
