Star Wars - How much is too much?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Star Wars. I like the original movies, enjoyed The Force Awakens, and am looking forward to SWL, but I still wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of the franchise. With at least 5 more films on the way, all of the currently existing Star Wars attractions in DHS, as well as the ones to come, I can't help but feel like it's going to get old after a while. I might not feel this way when the films actually come out and the land is built, but at the moment, it all just seems like a bit much to me. What do you think?

Star Wars has never existed in a "Just a movie series" vacuum. There's been mountains of material produced before Disney bought Lucasfilm and they'll be producing more and more in the future.

It's just that now we're gonna get some non-Episode movies in addition to all our books, comics, video games and animated television shows.

Star Wars is one of the most successful and iconic franchises in film history and a significant part of popular culture. I think it is significantly under represented in the parks. I also don't have a problem with the films. Star Wars is a vast universe that has infinite story possibilities. I don't think the movies will get "old" as long as they are well made.

No, "a bit much" is what they did with frozen... As far as I know we don't have Ren and Rey M&Gs at MK, The Poe Dameron X-Wing water ride taking over the Three Caballeros in EC, and BB-8 paper fans being forced on you as you enter HS. Nope, I don't think The Mouse has come close to "much" yet.

I honestly don't see it getting old anytime soon. Force Awakens made a bazillion dollars and totally deserves it's merch stranglehold on the parks (at least for a little while). There also isn't anything Star Wars in three of the four parks besides merch, and that fourth park only really has a small stage show, a special event fireworks, and Star Tours. Launch Bay is totally avoidable, as is the fireworks and their attempts at cheap Star Wars attractions like that clip show and the weird stage thing they just started (though I kind of like the Phasma march). If Rogue One and Episode 8 continue to be well received, the biggest issue is just how much they can wring out of the franchise while people wait impatiently for SWL to actually open.

As far as I am concerned they have already reached their saturation point with Star Wars, even the limited amount of Marvel that they can use, actually none at all is to much of that. Toy Story will be overdone in my mind as well. I guess I'm not a good one to ask.

I think it is brilliant as it's own land. DHS has needed a shot in the arm for so long it will be refreshing. As long as it does not turn into the Frozen syndrome and permeate every single part of all the parks I am all for something new and refreshing. Makes sense that since they bought the franchise that they would want to maximize their investment from a business standpoint. Now...going all-in on a franchise they do not own or have a stake in seems questionable *cough...Avatar.

Not at all, but it is just personal opinion. I don't like the way Frozen was constantly forced upon me at WDW, but alot of people like it, so I live with it. If you don't like a certain Disney IP, just stay away from any attractions that are centered around it.

Cars has a land. Cars. On a planet in which Cars has a theme park land, Star Wars should have an entire city the size of Cleveland.

Separately, what do you mean "all the attractions currently at DHS"? There's one legit attraction (that might be going away when SWL opens) and several temporary attractions (that are almost certainly going away when SWL opens).

It's down to personal taste I guess. If an additional attraction can stand on its own merits, regardless of the IP, and doesn't remove a non SW attraction in the process it can't be seen as a problem. Turning half of DHS eventually into Star Wars World could be.

If ever an IP was valid for its own park it was this. Even DL nearly gave it a half park.
