The best way to handle the insane crowds on opening day (IMO) is to have an extensive month long soft opening period that is available for anybody to attend..
With these dates at random 3-4 times a week, it will allow many people to already have experienced the land with minimal crowds, give the CMs time to practice operation, and relieve opening day crowds.
Wizarding World did this in Hollywood and it kept me from attending on opening day... why put my self through the insane crowds when I've already experienced it weeks in advance..
Now I'm sure Disney will still want to profit on a ticketed preview day.. and they can still do that.. I'm sure if you include food options, exclusive lanyard, and ride waits at a low to the itinerary, anybody would be willing to pay big, even if they aren't necessarily the first people to experience the land.
