The thing was working well on saturday and had people quite entertained. It was a hot day so lots of people filling up their water bottles and using fountain. Saw a dad pay a practical joke on children. After filling their bottles the creature popped up and he turns to them and tells them " is that the water you are drinking? " kids spits out water LOL
Sounds good, I'm happy it was working by button again. It might be hit or miss with the button or on x number of presses it works. When I was there it wasn't working at all which is why I was using the App to make sure everyone was able to see it.

I think the other poster just wasn't able to grasp that it could be the App that was doing it as well, because well they saw a video and of course the videos show everything so you don't need to experience it yourself and argue with people that have.....

Would a 15-20 second sequence where the Falcon breaks down and is sitting dead in the water (space), requiring engineers to engage to fix the ship and gunners to defend the ship help? Pilots would just be sitting back and watching, but it's not far off from something that could happen in the films, and it lets the other 2/3 of the cabin have a moment of glory.

. In fact, the ride feels not interactive enough for a game, and not thrilling enough for a ride. They need to go full in with either of these aspects instead of what it is right now. They need to either make it a fully automatic ride or a more interactive/engaging game.

That is a brilliant point and describes what I've been unable to articulate. It's not a great simulator (weak graphics, little real movement, no thrill, lame story (Pick up a canister, really? In Star Tours we blew up the freakin' Death Star!) and 2/3 of the riders really can't see the screen well), while at the same time the interaction for 2/3 is just as bad if not worse than Mission:Space. Heck, with MS, I get a joystick.

Midway Mania, which I'm not a huge fan of but others really enjoy it, is truly interactive and your involvement is clear and directly affects the outcome of your personal experience.

SR truly does neither well.

But being in the cockpit of the Falcon is awesome, which is why I think the reviews get progressively worse the more you ride it as that thrill dissipates.

It's too much like Star Trek. Great in that, boring in Star Wars.

Gunner doesn't even make sense in the cockpit as we learned in the original movie that the ship's guns are operated in entirely separate areas of the ship. While you don't have much freedom, there's a certain logic to the pilot sticks.

The other things are just nonsensical mashing buttons. They need to just overhaul the ride and video to be more entertaining and thrilling.

We've been through this before, that's not true. The Falcon is fully capable of firing from the cockpit alone as evidenced by Han and Chewie both being in the cockpit when they return to the Death Star to shoot Vader's TIE escorts in ANH. It makes sense that targeting/functionality is limited from there, and optimally guns would be manned from the gunner wells.

Unfortunately, that scene is no longer cannon as there was music playing in that scene, which is obviously ridiculous as there woundn't be music playing in space - not immersive.

There is a light effect on the canopy, if you are a bad engineer, cracks appear in the glass above you.

Really? How bad do you have to be? I ask because when I was the engineer I had no idea what I was doing, and my co-engineer was a sullen teen checking her Instagram who refused to do anything the entire flight. And I never saw cracks in the cockpit glass.

The quality of the graphics didn't bother me too much in person but I get people's concerns with it. What did was the fact that there may be too much light in the cockpit making it a little more distracting when looking through the glass; Or was it the glass that is too thick or glare inducing? Star Tours is a lot more convincing as a simulator movement and visuals wise to me.

It looked dark and depressing like the Han Solo movie cinematography. I needed my glasses to be able to sort of see what was happening. The visuals are just too dim.

I thought that was just me. Glad to hear others felt the same way about the dim video.

I never saw the Han Solo movie and have no desire to, so I could care less if that was on purpose creatively. They just need to turn the backlight up on the screens.

That engineer only pushed his button once to activate the system then did nothing. Cracks appeared around the time of the train collision

And just a point of clarification, I think they might have turned off the fountain button function since opening but here is a news article that clearly states the app is the way to get the Dianoga to show up:

Like I said everyone was pushing the fountain button and it wasn't working over the entire weekend, so I used the App for them.
Again I was not saying you were incorrect. I am saying what happened during opening and what was reported here even on this thread back when it opened in june if you wana go back pages. I am not taking back what I said and that is it was working without the app at first. it just caught me off guard that is now it seems like you need the app when at first you did not. i am not trying to tell you what you experienced is wrong just it seems odd when that was not the way it was done when the land opened. so , again get over yourself you constant disney apologist

again you miss the POINT of my post. I was not saying you were incorrect for what you experienced. I was simply saying this development of using the app to make the creature appear was new and surprising news to me because at first everyone was raving about the AA and how all you had to do was hit the water button to make it arise which everyone was reporting as the only way to make it come out at the time. so hearing about you can apparantly use the app too is brand new news to me when it was not reported as such last month. so i am not arguing with you or saying you are a liar or anything. i was just shocked by the news is all and trying to clarifiy the situation sir. have a good day

I'm just gonna put this right here where you basically corrected my friend indicating what he posted was wrong because you hadn't seen it in a video:

yeah it has in all the videos i have seen. i have not see one video where they use the app. go back to opening day videos. you just have to activate the water fountain

So no you didn't simply say "well this is new information for me", you said "you just have to activate the water fountain" because that is only what you saw in a video. Again my point is you are trying to judge or comment on things just from videos instead of believing or trusting things from people who have actually been there.

I am not getting into a debate with you. I already clarified where my confussion was and why I was surpirsed. I like ya guy, but you are someone who always has to be right and has to have the last word in every exchange you have with people on here. I am not going to get into your endless loop tonight like I have before in the past and I am bored of your game. Thanks for the new info that you can do it with the app on top of pushing the button. It was new info to me. Have a good night.

You're welcome for the new information. And just so you know if you would have said that to begin with there wouldn't be an endless back and forth.
