At some point people should define the attributes of a person whose opinion of their GS experience they will trust.
So now paying customers are going - but those are people who were so eager for the "new car smell" experience that their opinions are tainted.
So we wait a little while - well, those are people who don't want to admit they wasted their money.
So we wait more - well, Disney responded to feedback and now it's different. (as it inevitably will be)
Early days yet but it's not looking good for the naysayers. If this is a big success the mental gymnastics by those who've spent virtually everyday bashing it and claiming otherwise will be either be deafening in their silence or hilarious in their lack of any cohesive logic. This is really starting to seem as if it's going to be a big success.

I suppose the best we'll get if paying guests love it is "Well it's not for me and that's all that matters, therefore it's a failure despite what anyone else says"
People were so eager to judge it without knowing much other than an advertisement that showed very little. That's on Disney but those declaring it terrible without knowing anything about it really jumped the gun. Where are all those who 'couldn't wait for the reviews to drop, popcorn at the ready'I guess I should say a success in the execution of it all. It remains to be seen if a success monetarily.

Now THAT'S something I could see them moving to after the willing fools have been parted from their money and there are only sporadic bookings. Re-theme to a Star Wars casino cruise. Cost to stay drops slightly. Food still included. Alcohol still extra. Star Wars Canto Bight casino.Or when they're playing the role of "Alien Sabaac Dealer #4" in a premium immersive interactive experience.
To me it just seems that there are a lot of people on this board lately that just have to make a judgement based on a few bad pictures and videos without ever seeing it in person themselves. I will never understand that at all. If you haven't experienced it in person, I'm sorry, but you have no right to bash something you've never seen. And of course, the you is not directed at you @mergatroid, but the general "you" group.People were so eager to judge it without knowing much other than an advertisement that showed very little. I think it's good if it's a success IF the money is reinvested and the "lessons learned" are spread out for regular paying customers. The other path (and unfortunately the one I think Disney will go down) is further paywalling experiences so that the price of entry just guarantees that you get in the gates, nothing more.Early days yet but it's not looking good for the naysayers. Disney is just training them for class distinctions that will follow them for the rest of their Disney vacation.I know the folks from the Dis had an experience where 2 of them got to do the bridge thing and the other one wasn't allowed to join them which I felt was super weird. If that was young kids I am certain there'd be some major tears.

That's cruelty to the minions! Unnecessarily abrasive.“Have a magical Disney Day, peasants.”
I do believe that will depend on if you spent less than $2000 as a single member of the cabin or you are the paying parents of a $6,000 family excursion.A lot of opinions but the first wave (that first batch of guests) is just now disembarking from their immersive experience. I would like to hear / read their descriptions and analysis of their experiences. Did they have fun? Did it meet expectations? Did the cruise experience justify the cost? Are they satisfied as a onetime experience, or do they want to do it again? The ball is now in their court (the paying guests / customers / travelers' opinions) as to how this project will be viewed.
That's exactly what they'll do if it works. Adventureland hotel stay, Haunted Mansion, etc, etc...I think it's good if it's a success IF the money is reinvested and the "lessons learned" are spread out for regular paying customers. yeah, even if this blows my mind we're never doing it again. It's a bucket list thing.I do believe that will depend on if you spent less than $2000 as a single member of the cabin or you are the paying parents of a $6,000 family excursion.
Honestly don't see how quickly someone will run back no matter how much they liked it at that price. Since it's a niche product I personally see this going the way of The Void or NBA Experience. Even if people like it, there aren't enough to maintain long-term.
In 24 hours? This is really starting to seem as if it's going to be a big success.
