At some point people should define the attributes of a person whose opinion of their GS experience they will trust.

So now paying customers are going - but those are people who were so eager for the "new car smell" experience that their opinions are tainted.

So we wait a little while - well, those are people who don't want to admit they wasted their money.

So we wait more - well, Disney responded to feedback and now it's different. (as it inevitably will be)

Reviews from paying guests looking positive so far, no posts from those saying they can't wait for the paying guests to comment

"Well I don't care that paying guests love it, they wouldn't have gone if they if they didn't expect to enjoy it would they"

Do you think that people in general pay for things they don't expect to enjoy?

"Well it's Disney so it's different, it's the new car smell they're there for"

This is really starting to seem as if it's going to be a big success.
Early days yet but it's not looking good for the naysayers. If this is a big success the mental gymnastics by those who've spent virtually everyday bashing it and claiming otherwise will be either be deafening in their silence or hilarious in their lack of any cohesive logic.

I suppose the best we'll get if paying guests love it is "Well it's not for me and that's all that matters, therefore it's a failure despite what paying guests say. Who are paying guests to judge everything anyway?"

I guess I should say a success in the execution of it all. It remains to be seen if a success monetarily. :)

People were so eager to judge it without knowing much other than an advertisement that showed very little. That's on Disney but those declaring it terrible without knowing anything about it really jumped the gun. Where are all those who 'couldn't wait for the reviews to drop, popcorn at the ready'

It all looks very nice. At the current price point it’s not for me, but I am sure there are plenty of folks that will go for it and have a great time.

This is happening at a perfect time for TWDC; the pandemic basically over, A LOT of folks are finally leaving their homes and want that big revenge vacation. What’s a better way than to take a trip on the Starcruiser?

Time will tell. My big question from the start was, will the bean counters at TWDC will be satisfied that the Starcruiser is ”making enough” money for them to keep it ”sailing”?

We will see what happens..

It's early but so far the buzz is definitely good. As a massive Star Wars fan, I'm intrigued and I needed to see positive reviews.

It's price point makes it very challenging. You almost have to punt a typical year at WDW or DL or a Cruise to make it worthwhile.

Being a new DVC owner, I could see myself doing a couple nights at a DVC (with no parks or maybe an AH event or one day ticket) and Starcruiser. But it would absolutely be substitution for a full week of WDW madness.

Or when they're playing the role of "Alien Sabaac Dealer #4" in a premium immersive interactive experience.
Now THAT'S something I could see them moving to after the willing fools have been parted from their money and there are only sporadic bookings. Re-theme to a Star Wars casino cruise. Cost to stay drops slightly. Food still included. Alcohol still extra. Star Wars Canto Bight casino.

If Slappy reads this he will have to change his pants imagining all the money he's losing by not already implementing this as the 1.0 version.

To me it just seems that there are a lot of people on this board lately that just have to make a judgement based on a few bad pictures and videos without ever seeing it in person themselves. I will never understand that at all. If you haven't experienced it in person, I'm sorry, but you have no right to bash something you've never seen. And of course, the you is not directed at you @mergatroid, but the general "you" group.

The other group that seem to hate it are those that don't have the money for it, so they have to bash it so they don't feel so bad about not being in the club that can and will afford it. We certainly could easily afford it, but not sure if DW would like all the playing. I would personally not have an issue with it, so not sure if we will ever do it, but I won't say never.

I think it's good if it's a success IF the money is reinvested and the "lessons learned" are spread out for regular paying customers. The other path (and unfortunately the one I think Disney will go down) is further paywalling experiences so that the price of entry just guarantees that you get in the gates, nothing more.

I know the folks from the Dis had an experience where 2 of them got to do the bridge thing and the other one wasn't allowed to join them which I felt was super weird. If that was young kids I am certain there'd be some major tears.
Disney is just training them for class distinctions that will follow them for the rest of their Disney vacation.

We might need to wait until Galactic Starcruiser guests start to get old and die so that on their death bed they can mutter, with their last breath, ".. that Star Wars hotel was a waste of money .. ", and finally be released from their darkest, deepest shame and torment they carried with them for so long.

A lot of opinions but the first wave (that first batch of guests) is just now disembarking from their immersive experience. I would like to hear / read their descriptions and analysis of their experiences. Did they have fun? Did it meet expectations? Did the cruise experience justify the cost? Are they satisfied as a onetime experience, or do they want to do it again? The ball is now in their court (the paying guests / customers / travelers' opinions) as to how this project will be viewed.

I do believe that will depend on if you spent less than $2000 as a single member of the cabin or you are the paying parents of a $6,000 family excursion.

Honestly don't see how quickly someone will run back no matter how much they liked it at that price. Since it's a niche product I personally see this going the way of The Void or NBA Experience. Even if people like it, there aren't enough to maintain long-term.

That's exactly what they'll do if it works. Adventureland hotel stay, Haunted Mansion, etc, etc...

yeah, even if this blows my mind we're never doing it again. It's a bucket list thing.
