I think it's an apples/oranges comparison but the end result, that not enough people will go for it, may be the same.Back in 2019 when the NBA Experience opened the admin for WDW Magic posted that it had overall good reviews from the guests who actually did the experience.
They just couldn't get enough of them to do it. And that was at a $35 price point.
Price for two people:

Yes, there are folk's that will not blink at dropping serious cash (whether it means indebtedness or not) for a brief time frame of fun. Then there are folks that look for enjoyment and fun without expending large sums. Hold on to your shorts, all of these folks are right! Ultimately, it's not about money it's about having some fun, enjoying life and did you do what you wanted to do?

Im sorry, there are plenty of things to do for fun and enjoyment that does not have a pay wall like this. This is over-priced, cheaply executed and a missed opportunity.
The "acting" is really bad, the final battle is really bad, Saber training is really bad, Bridge ops training is really bad. For the current price point my enthusiasm has much higher expectation then what Disney delivered. It;s quite ok to hold Disney to account for their offerings.

Nor do I. I'm sure some people like it, even love it. However, I know to my tastes they would be at least a little sour. For me to be interested this would need to be much different than what is provided. I know my standards are not met at the current price or anywhere close to it.
Even if I did decide to blow that kind of money, I'm not impressed with a blue shrimp. I'm very culinarily experienced. Nothing at Disney, outside of a couple of their top tier restaurants, offer anything I feel equates to the "luxury" professed to be provided on this star cruise. So, right away the food is going to be a mixed review for me at best and an outright negative at worst.
Since the storyline isn't truly dynamic, I'm not really interested. I did the Start Wars experience at The Void. I enjoyed it. However, I didn't go back because I knew the story and how things were going to go. If the choices I made resulted in different events I would have. Now, I know there are some side quests and so forth on the Star Cruiser, but that's not what I mean. (See "Choose Your Own Adventure" books.) The collective efforts of all on the cruise should alter the events, overall story, and ending to a degree that I could make someone jealous from another cruise who thought my experience was better than theirs or vice-versa. It should be possible that I could go back and have a different experience, should I choose to waste the money a second time. All cast and guests should have to wear quality costumes that are theme appropriate. Events should not have planned times. They should happen in real time in reaction to choices made by the collective members. For instance, if there is a battle between Rey and Kylo or some other interesting event. It should start no matter where people are. I should hear something over the intercom (or it's equivalent) that warns passengers of a fight in the (insert area of ship) and to exercise caution (or in most people's cases, go to that area to witness it). There shouldn't be the need to go to Galaxy's Edge as filler. Everything should be stand-alone in the ship. If you must go to Galaxy's Edge it should happen at night or early in the morning when the park is still closed (so there are no vacationers in shorts/mickey ears to break the immersion illusion). Possibly have some paid actors mingling in the shops and roadways to make it actually feel like you are visiting a real planet in the SW universe.
The point is, it would have to be a quality that Disney hasn't provided in decades.

The Starcruiser is now sold out into July. In fact, through September there are only 36 dates available. Yet there are still many who insist the Starcruiser is a failure, they are wrong. Disney will gross over $100 million in these 7 months from just 100 rooms, not counting all the stuff they sell. Think about that! over $1 million a room in revenue in just 7 months.

Believe it or not, this past week I was fixing a used 21 Toyota Land Cruiser with 30,000+ miles that was listed at $110,000.

I'm also going to be looking for people's opinions a couple weeks or a month or two after they took the trip when the credit card bills come due. I wouldn't be suprised if we see a Disney Visa Card tie in with 0% financing for your Galactic Starcuiser trip for 6 months.

Sorry, but I don't equate projected (they can still cancel; time will tell) short-term revenue gain for the already filled, deep Disney pockets with success. You will have to wait to see how they react when the bookings start to fall off.
Every restaurant in NYC that manages to open it's doors and not serve deadly food is a success on day 1. But about half of them will be closed by the same time the following year.
This is a wait and see matter. Even the NBA Experience, as bad as it was, lasted more than a day.

Not to mention, what kind of success do we want here? A great attraction that we all can enjoy or an obscene moneymaker for Disney? While I don't mind if Disney makes a few bucks, I personally want a great experience. At this price and quality it's already a fail for me.
So you obviously haven't been following any of the people that are experiencing this in real time that refute every single point you just made.

You say this, not experiencing it. Yet, everyone who has experienced so far is saying the opposite.
Len Testa, for one.

They just couldn't get enough of them to do it. And that was at a $35 price point.

The major difference being the Starcruiser only needs a few hundreds guests every 2 days to be successful, the NBA experience probably needed a few thousand a day to be successful.
Both went after a niche market but I think the hotel has a much better business plan for success. It’s much easier to find a few hundred niche guests a week, even with high costs, than tens of thousands.
