Star Tours 2.0 Preview

Hello all,
I am a new member of the forum, though I've been reading for years. This is one of must visit sites everyday. I read on another site that "it's likely that there will be a special Star Tours event for the Destination: D23 convention the week before, probably another event for Passholders." I'm more concerned with the Passholder part. Anyone in the know heard anything about a Passholder preview for Star Tours, or is it too soon to know? Call me kooky, but I'm going to imagine that Star Tours may be a bit busy on it's opening weekend, ya know, with it being SWW and all.

Welcome to WDWMAGIC!

Lots of things can happen between now and the opening to get into serious talk of previews. I'm sure if possible, they will be looking to do some kinds of previews. Annual Pass, D23, DVC, random soft openings for anyone etc.

If there is any previews i don't think they will happen until the week of opening, especially as the opening team don't even start training until May.

Really? I would think a little sooner. I usually get the email about PH / DVC much sooner. So, only 2 1/2 weeks of training?

Exactly. I'm sure once somebody knows when they will be, the information will be made available. I would say the week of the opening is the most likely time you'll see any AP, DVC or CM previews as well as any chance of a soft opening.

I'm on the opening team, and we start training on May 1st. They wouldn't dare move us until the Easter holidays are over. This week and next week are two of the busiest weeks of the year.

I wouldn't say that. Christmas to New Years is pretty darn busy... But yeah, CMs report on May 1st for training. It should take at least a week for all of us to get trained and I'm sure plenty of test and adjust will be done. The week of the opening is probably the earliest any previews will be done.

Which is why I said its one of the busiest. Christmas is by the a long way the busiest, with Easter and Thanksgiving on it heals and 4th of July can be it or miss. Whenever you see the turnabout cones set up at the MK parking lot (like they are at the mo.) you know its extremely busy.

BTW i looking forward to finally putting a face to the poster, see ya when we report for training. :)

I've actually done that already once. One of our fellow forum posters worked with me at Mission: SPACE. I also currently work with another forum poster. It's always fun to meet the people you chat with online.
