So what happened was…
A long while ago my mom had mentioned how fun it would be to go to Disney at Halloween time and stay through to see the transition to Christmas.
Lil BES was on board. She talked about it non-stop. She assured me that she didn’t care about missing trick-or-treating.
When there was a (slight) discount on AP’s this past fall I jumped. She was still game.
We went on our annual January trip. She was still game.
Sometime in early spring, the traditional time for lil BES to start thinking about Halloween again, she must have really thought through what it meant to miss trick-or-treating.
I figured we would do an early October or November trip and call it a day.
It was also around this time that her separation anxiety ramped up. I don’t know if that’s the right term. She’s not anxious. Just obsessed.
Me: “Go downstairs and get your shoes on. I want to brush my teeth before we leave.”
Lil BES: “I can’t. I’ll miss you too much. Let’s go together.”
She’s my stan. 100%. The cutest little stalker you could ever hope for.
Work has been wild again. (Like always.) Lil BES has lamented “why are there 5 weekdays but only 2 weekends days?!!”
Anytime lil BES and I spend time together, just the two of us, it has been deemed “special lady time”. She just seems so content during it. And it’s definitely my favorite time too (no offense DH).
So some point, I figured what the heck. Let’s go to Disney. Just lil BES and myself.
May is beautiful weather-wise and I found some days that didn’t interrupt any school or work events.
DH has a long summer of entertaining lil BES ahead of him so he was definitely on board for a pre-summer breather.
Per lil BES’s request we got a Mermaid room at AoA.
Based on some flight deals, the trip extended a day and during into a split between AoA and Riverside.
And speaking of flights, I was soooooo close to booking Spirit. Good thing my home boss told me “No we fly the triangle one.” (I’m 130% sure that’s because of the seat screens and biscoff cookies)
So from all the above Special Lady Vacation was born. Our unplanned trip together went well. A planned trip should be even better. Right?
