spaceship earth narration

from what i understand the "now closed" version of spaceship earth is still focusing on the original theme of the attraction, history of communications. with seimans as the new sponsor, i believe, the focus will now be the history and evolution of technology, rather than just communication. i know that disney was trying to sell siemans on updating the attraction to include thrills and other noneducational slants, but siemans wants to keep the flavor of spaceship earth just the way it is. will the dialog change.... most likely. will we have another journey into your imagination, highly doubtful. i believe seimans will keep the attraction in tact and handled very respectfully.

Has there been any news from Disney about them remastering the narration on Spaceship Earth? I wonder if they know just how bad the current recording is.

the only thing i want to change of SSE is the speed, no more stops!

it needs to be kept as is. its a classic, you can't change a classic.

Classic attractions have gone through changes several times over the years.

They can't stay entirely the same forever. They'd get stale and guests would probably stop seeing them.

SSE is a perfect example of a classic attraction that has gone through multiple changes since its opening.

Walter Cronkite was the second narrator, the first was Vic Perrin (sorry if it was already posted).

As long as people need to transfer from wheelchairs or take a longer time getting into the cars, there will be stops and slow downs. You just need to deal with it as part of the attraction.

This thread has been on a very long refurb, last closed in 2001 only to re-open again in 2007. I hope the curent SSE refurb doesn't last as long.

Like the Haunted Mansion, coming up with a vehicle to hold a wheelchair (due to the ups and downs), is very difficult. How would you secure it? So I think you will continue to have to accept stops and starts while they wait for folks who are disabled to be assisted into the ride vehicles.

About wheelchairs...

Brand new sign in Project Tomorrow designates the WC holding area for SSE. Pretty much where the old holding area was. I doubt anything will change in that respect.
