I'm trying to figure out what the monks are chanting in the soundtrack of the Irons version of Spaceship Earth. Part of it seems to be a well known part of the Requiem Mass, but I can't make out portions of it, as I don't speak Latin.
Any help? Source:
I can figure out the following:
Requiem, Pie Jesu
Domine
???
???
???
Dona Eis (Requiem, Pie Jesu...)

Speaking of the Jeremy Irons-era Spaceship Earth audio, did it ever bother any other musical nerds that the variations renditions of the music during the Renaissance segments are played in reverse chronological order of musical advancement? It moves, roughly, from non-imitative polyphony back to continuo, which is kind of the opposite of what you would do to show the advancement of western music.

Translated.........
Have mercy Lord,
grant them eternal rest,
O Lord, hear my prayer:

The first bit should be, "Pious/Holy Lord Jesus," rather than "Have mercy Lord."
The "have mercy Lord" bit in a Latin requiem mass is almost always presented by the familiar Greek "Kyrie Eleision," though if it were there the Latin would be "Domine miserere."
