Space Mountain Refurb video from the TTA

I have captured a few frames from the video.

I don't remember ever seeing these balls before, I'm guessing they're not new since no one has mentioned them yet.

Space men are back.:sohappy:

I wonder if they'll clean this edge up before SM opens?

What I think some of you are referring to as a door in the "load area" on that new "box" is actually still above the old ceiling opening. In other words, that door is one story above the load area---making that new "box" seem even higher.

So what do we think is in there?

New star projections?
Video monitors simulating space?
A space station-type ceiling?

Ghost Galaxy?!:xmas::lookaroun

While you people worry about holes in the ceiling and the balls, I'm worrying that no one who is working on the interior will notice that the light bulbs have been broken for the little models located behind the star tunnel windows and that effect will still be broken for years to come.

I need to see the astronaut riding the moon buggy again, I'm so sick of seeing blank windows with only the star background lit up. :zipit:

I do recall fiber optics 'stars' burned out at the exit tunnel. Maybe they'll be fixed.

RCA was more fixated on astronauts then. FedEx, not so much. We'll see what happens after this refurb is over.

I'm sure the zig zag windows will be fixed, some of the ones at the very end had dimly lit planets and other problems. As for the effects for the star tunnel windows, they've been neglected for years, possibly since 1994. I am also wondering if they will change the backlit posters in the queue with new poster images of outerspace.

It would be an excellent effect if (and sadly I can only say if) if your peoplemover car went around the track and was given it's own color. So that you may be moving through the yellow lights first, and your car will be followed around by green light and then you go to the red light section and the car is followed around by a blue light overhead.

If Disneyland still had their peoplemover, and if it was designed like ours, I would have no doubt TDA would have used their LED lights to the full and creative max with something like this or better.
Being a regular Disneylander and seeing TDA's record... yes, they would. TDA is amazing. We love them.

OK, that is new to me. It was REALLY dark in the lift, though, and could've missed them, but...
The lift at WDW and the loading area at DL are very similar and I believe they are meant to be sort of the same type of thing, and Disneyland has always had balls.

I'd love to see zigzag tunnel in its full potential!

Oh, wait, we are talking about the same management that installed those color changing lights and don't use them. :brick:

*sigh....TDA*

And exactly.:brick: However, they still have time.

And even if this refurb is just a cleaning.....hopefully that mandates repairs to burnt bulbs..

I bet it's like IASW and they don't even make them anymore.:zipit:

Well, considering we're not sure if they're really working on anything other than the queue...
Something I wondered. Why does it have to be so dark in the zig-zag corridor anyway?

I know it's space, but they could add some sort of internal lighting, even if it fades in spacey colors...
