Mission Space is just not a good attraction. I wonder if there are any plans to change it out to something better?
I imagine replacing Mission Space is on the bottom of the huge list of necessary Epcot changes
Plans to update Mission: Space were actually a part of the Epcot Evolution and it was one of the first projects completed.

Still needs help

Mission Space doesn't have an IP, is edutainment, and fits more in with the theme of Future World than any other current pavilion. It should be the perfect FW pavilion in the eyes of all who bemoan the direction Epcot is heading.

And Disney fans hate it.

This is why Future World is going away.

I’d say SSE, The Land, Test Track, and even The Seas to an extent still fit FW.

You beat me to it - especially Living with the Land and SSE. The problem with Mission:Space is that despite the expense it’s really not that immersive even with the upgrades. The screens are small and there is no point where you really feel like you are experiencing a real journey. The ride is also always the same - different missions would help ( I don’t mean orange/green before someone says it). Changing ride experiences has been helpful in keeping Star Tours and Tower of Terror interesting. It’s just not very magical for all the expense.

With the rebirth of the space race and the likely presence of space and moon and even Mars tourism very soon - wouldn’t it be great to reimagine the ride to tie in with that experience and even have live feeds in the pre-show from the real locations when they are available.

Mr Penguin does have a great point about Disney fans though about the knee jerk reaction to anything new or different from some of our posters.

Mission: Space fits future world, sure, but fans will always hate it for what it took the life of. Also the attraction is really mediocre and the Advanced Training Lab is a sick joke
It’s guest reviews are not as awful as folks here suggest. By modern Disney standards, it has a respectable hourly capacity and despite its intensity, maintains 30-40 min waits which used to be the norm for E-tickets. Our complaining results in more toddler-friendly rides with characters.

But hey, they’re building a restaurant?

I'll defend Mission Space every day. Unique ride system, no IP, building looks very cool, fits FW. The only complaint ppl have abt it is entirely external to the ride itself. Unless your a baby lol

In my opinion it's just not an enjoyable ride. The only thing that is a positive is the look of the building. But a laundry mat can look cool on the outside. That doesn't mean I want to go in and ride the washing machines though.

I don't like M:S as a ride, because of what it does to me, but it absolutely fits with the theme of Future World.

I can't even do Green these days without an hour or two of not feeling well afterwards. Not really sure why, either, as Green doesn't spin. I was able to ride what is now Orange when it first opened and was able to handle it, but in the years since I have become less and less able to handle the ride, to the point now where I just don't ride. But I'm not about to wish it away due to my inability to enjoy it anymore.

Maybe, if I'm feeling good one morning the next time we're there, I'll give Green a try again while my boys ride Orange. :)
