Is there anyone here who likes Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey in Hollywood Studios? If so, why? If not, why not?

Edit: so apparently it is closed. Thank you unkadug. If anyone would still like to discuss the ride, you are welcome to.

Sounds Dangerous should be officially removed from Hollywood studios. It is just an excuse for people to enter a dark room and nap or make out. It in no way represents the Disney detail or way.

Isn't it closed down? I have never done it but I could swear that there was no line and nobody anywhere around the entrance when we were down in Oct.

I agree!! When we went we thought they would be showing how they did sound effects. Instead you sit in the dark and 'listen' to scenes in a 'movie'. Never again!!

Last time I was there it was closed temporarily because it was during the gay days... I didn't think it was closed down for good. I could be wrong but it's not unusual for it to have no line.

I guess you haven't been keeping up. Sounds Dangerous hasn't been operating for at least a year, if not more. So it is no longer an issue.

Personally I liked it. Why? Because I have never been a totally visual person. I grew up listening to the radio when they had shows like Green Hornet, Superman, The Lone Ranger and so on. The purpose, that was missed by everyone in their desire not have to think, is that if you have sound then you can imagine the scenery. You don't need to be shown. Remember it replaced the old folly sound show which emphasized the use of sound affects to convey a message. There was no easier way to illustrate that then to submerge you into a situation where all that was available was sound. They set up the scene before they put you in darkness, all it took was a minor amount of imagination to follow the story. Sadly, Disney did a terrible job of getting that message and purpose across so everyone left saying, what a rip-off they didn't even have a picture to watch.

Well, in my opinion, we all lost something in that attitude, even if it was just a chance to close our eyes and sleep.:(

The People Mover is a napping/make out place also...just saying

Thanks for the info Unka... Although some people may abuse all attractions, the "PeopleMover" has been a staple in Tomorrowland since 1975. This ride exhibits what Walt's original vision was for Tomorrowland and represents retro disney.

Sounds Dangerous
Sounds Dangerous! was an audio show at Echo Lake inside Disney's Hollywood Studios starring comedian Drew Carey. The presentation took place inside an ABC soundstage with theater-style seating. Wikipedia
Closed: May 18, 2012
Opened: April 22, 1999
Duration: 12 minutes

It was officially closed then, but it hadn't been run for quite a while previous to that. I was there in December of 2011 and April of 2012 and it was not open then.
