S.E.A. The gang of explorers Disney created to establish a backstory for new and old attractions is something of a mystery. Who are these people? Sure, They're based on personnel within the Disney company and in some cases are simply just friends of Disney, kept in the family with a portrait honoring an accomplishment or contribution to a ride or attraction. But have you ever really looked at these guys? (and gal)

Will there be more S.E.A. members to follow? Some of these fictitious founders lack attractions. What will become of them? What is there claim to fame yet to be discovered? Anyone up for guessing? Can we infer something from their names and likeness? This not-so secret society is still very much a mystery to parkgoers. Perhaps there is still a few secrets for us to unravel. Here's hoping their presence is expanded in WDW.

Although it isn't mentioned in the article above there are other members both founding and those that later joined still needing character development and a purpose. There's also characters that could potentially be S.E.A. members needing only a mention from Imagineering to bring them into the fold. For some arm-chair imagineering: The characters from Pixar's Up for example could "fit" that mythos with relative ease should they consider it. I'd like to think that "Dinoland" in AK could support an S.E.A. overlay.

Clearly certain attractions within Walt Disney World could benefit from an S.E.A. treatment. Not that they will but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to see "The Enchanted Tiki Room" in Adventureland re-reimagined with a Society of Explorers and Adventurers backstory given it's proximity to Skipper Canteen and the fact that one of the founding members; Doctor J.L. Baterista has a likely affinity for jungle drums. Or that Professor R. Blauerhimmel is an avid aviator; a perfect candidate for a flying ride yet to be built.

Lot's of potential with S.E.A. I just find it all really interesting. How great would a comic be? or a movie?

Oh thanks for the info, i never heard of League of Adventures, only S.E.A.
They're currently a Shanghai exclusive. However, it's still connected to the larger SEA narrative thanks to them both sharing a tie to Indiana Jones. Besides Jock Lindsey becoming a member in the 40s, Harrison Hightower embarked on an expedition to the Lost River Delta and took stuff from the temple at the center of the Raging Spirits attraction.

It could be a really interesting way to connect all of the theme parks, and also make it something more the diehards would know about. Like an inside story with little winks to the people that know but not a distraction to those that don't.

Agreed. The entire S.E.A. concept is really cool to me because it combines the idea of exploring around the world...within Disney parks that are also NOW around the world, and they're all tied together.

I also wish they'd have some other things that cross between them, such as a "portal" like the steampunk looking telescope between London and New York
