Soarin, around the world

Yes, let us know because I am having a tough time believing that with all the new equipment that this would be a problem. I do suppose that if it is a curved screen light deflection might be evident, but, it shouldn't be extreme, it's all very close.

We are down at Disney now. Rode Soarin' twice. First time got the sweet spot - gate B right in the middle. No issues here.

Second time was gate C, seats 1-4. This was bad. Most things you didn't notice too much, but anything that is suppose to be straight isn't. The pool at the Taj, the Eiffel Tower - really bent.

As for the show it is nice. Screen nice and clear. Not thrilled with the added fake animals in places. Our family had a hard time noticing the smells. Second time was better. Still not as good as the old show for smells.

Everyone keeps talking about the end seats and the distorted perspective. From what I remember the old film did that also. Thoughts anyone?

That was my experience as well, the distorted Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal. I have ridden the old Soarin' so many times, but I don't remember that much distortion.

I guess I will find out in 69 days

All I can tell you is to try to get the middle section. This was not a slight distortion. The Eiffel Tower was severely curved to the left, since I was seated in that first section (is that A?) when they start grouping. We were in the center of that first section. I avoided all Soarin' threads before my trip to avoid spoilers, so I had no idea about this issue going in.

When you first go in the queue you are split into Concorse A,B or C. These don't matter. It's when you get to the next grouping that you can try to get into Gate B. A and C are on the sides and the closer to the front of each section you get, the further to the edge you are with the most distortion.
