So, You Want To Be the Sorcerer’s Apprentice?
Welcome all to our latest armchair imagineering game, kickstarting a year-long 25th Anniversary for the Imagineering forum. Can you believe it's been around that long? I don’t!
So, You Want to Be the Sorcerer’s Apprentice smashes two armchair imagineering competition series into one. So, You Want to Be an Imagineer, with over twenty successful seasons, first started years ago on the Visions Fantastic forum. SYWTBAI is famed for its one-of-a-kind prompts, creative strategy, and out-of-the-box twists.
All the while, on WDWMagic The Sorcerer’s Apprentice revolutionized what armchair imagineering competitions can be; known for its giant scale, season-long narrative, and an interconnected universe of projects.
–
So that was all well and good until @TheOriginalTiki, @PerGron, and I (@Outbound) messed up both universes and left us with this:
“So here’s the deal. It seems the two biggest games in the forums kind of collided and now the projects are just an absolute and complete mess, scattered well across the cosmos… luckily, while I was rifling through Yen Sid's desk the other day (don't ask) I came across this little beauty…”

GAMEPLAY
Players will compete on teams big, small, and wide in successive armchair imagineering projects, titled Stanzas.
Project Managers nominate one player the PoMVP (Power of MVP), a one-time immunity for the following Stanza. But beware! At the end of certain Stanzas, the Project Manager of a not-so-victorious team must nominate two other team members – as well as themselves – for a potential cut.
Along the way, teams will put back together the SYWTBAI and Sorcerer’s Apprentice realities. Together, they’ll build-out that empty map from before into something truly special.
At the end of our journey, one player will assume the responsibilities of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and our special dream park.
WALT’S VAULT
Now wait a minute! There’s trouble afoot!
Walt’s Vault of (in)famous SYWTBAI fame is back, threatening a variety of results every time a lucky (?) receiver of the Vault Key decides to take the risk to open it. Results can include prompt advantages and disadvantages, secret powers, a Diamond PoMVP, or ô̷ͅn̵̯͔̊͝͠e̵̹̔̃̉͝ ̴̯̺͌t̵̤̆̓i̴̱̞̫̎̑͗̚m̴̮̟̥͆̍e̵̤͔͒͛͝ ̸̩̠̦͇̚w̵͉̑͋̀͘ͅi̴͔̒̉̚s̶͍̎̋̅h̸̗͋ȅ̸̠͚s̴̥̙͕̮̒
A Vault Key was already sent to one of our esteemed players, and after each round, the player with the Key must pass it on to a player on the other team (who has not received a Key…)
Is that everything? I think so... if not, we’ll be sure to add below!
