The hard ticket events have done very well over the last couple of years. Seems they can very safely continue to up the price and still sell out. I would expect to see more of the same.

Or of course they could simply expand the number of events. That way they get more money because they still have the people that go there during the normal hours plus people after hours paying more.

I'd imagine the prices will go up; it's just "normal" for WDW. This will be my first time going this year so I won't have anything to compare it to unfortunately.

I think its difficult to add more nights and keep enough park hours for the non-ticket holders.
Not saying I would be a fan of it... Our last trip 2 of the 3 prime days, Fri, Sat and Sun. were hard ticket days which to me was too many... but if your Disney going for money I could see them doing it.

Have they kept the attendance cap for the events steady?

I'm sure they're always tempted to just sell more tickets as well.
I thought I heard somewhere that they actually lowered the capacity for these events this year? I know that sounds crazy, but I swear I read that someplace.

i'm sure they'll bump it

if you're willing to hustle a bit during the parade, the ticketed event really is a solid buy and ride lines are short. instead of paying ~$110 (or whatever a one-day is) for a full day just pay the party price and go at 4pm. treat it as a normal park day and stay up late. 4pm-11 is a good 7 hours to see and do all your favorite stuff and at a cheaper price

i imagine most people already know this and that is why the attendance is so strong

Last time I did MNSSHP, I didn't do a single candy trail.I did watch the parade and the fireworks though.

Based on the "sell out" night I experienced yesterday, I would believe it. Our longest ride wait was 15 minutes for Haunted Mansion and Seven Dwarfs...

Odd. We had the exact opposite experience 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday- until the last hour, queues during the party for everything other than Splash and Thunder were as long if not longer than they had been during the day. Dwarves never went below 50 minutes.
Do you know if any rides went down for technical reasons while you were there?

That was our thought after this year... Next time we go during a hard ticket event we will buy fewer regular ticket days and replace them with the hard ticket event... Much better deal. On a day with no hard ticket the lines were pretty brutal by mid-day... but at night during a party they were never that bad at all, especially true if you don't want to waste time on a parade or show at the castle (not that the show this year wasn't entertaining... but honestly watching a youtube video of it from the comfort of my living room was better than standing wall to wall in the heat to see it from afar).

that's the idea. we've done that a lot over the years. i mean look i dig the parade, and i try and catch the second one especially with halloween (horseman is a must-see). the christmas one too. but overall i use that first parade as an opportunity to hit the big rides. and yeah the candy lines are a nice idea but there isn't much of a reason to wait that long for some candy unless you have kids with you

None went down that I noted while there. I did see lines fluctuate. So, I saw Mine Train with a 45 minute wait (that was the longest I noted), but if you waited until the first parade time, it went down to 15 mins, and I never saw it spike back above that afterwards. Same with Haunted Mansion, it peaked at 50 minutes, so we skipped it and went over and did Pirates. By the time we had made our way back over, it was down to 15 minutes.

You don't even have to let the kids trick or treat, even my 10 year old decided we should start skipping candy lines and do other things once we explain their was a limited amount of time and she needed to set her priorities on what she wanted to do and what she could miss.... Now if I can only convince the kids they don't need costumes I'm set.
