Pre-Trip So this just happened over a game of rummy...And we're going live!

We're back...

Long story short, maybe, a few weeks ago I started a new job that afforded me a 5-day weekend for this fourth of July. The short notice left us with little time to plan a vacation and we have been resigned to a staycation. We had been checking the DVC availability for a few weeks to no avail and even the cash rooms seemed out of the question. We accepted the fact that we would just hang out in North Georgia for a long weekend....until tonight. For whatever reason, maybe it was the Victory Blackboard series no.6 in our glasses, we hammered out a last minute trip to PoP while playing rummy during dinner...what the heck?!?!

The kid informed us that she had the weekend off and I looked to @imahistorygeek and asked if she could be off. Without hesitation she said "for Disney, yes!" About three minutes later and a few internet searches we found that PoP was available for long weekend on the cheap! We pulled the trigger and now in five nights we will return to the bubble....on a whim! Absolutely ZERO has been planned so we will see where things take us. Disney Springs seems to be in the future for the ladies and a few late nights at the parks for the DW and I.

The weather so far has been beautiful

I started in On round two while the ladies were at DTD

After a while I decided to play theme park roulette but something told me this really wasn't the HS bus

A minute later and I had my winner! Looks like I'm heading to EC!!

I'll probably hang at EC long enough to activate my AP and maybe do a trip through time before meeting the ladies at Blaze Pizza for dinner.

Room finally ready around 4. I must say, I went into this with a meh feeling about the refurb. I have completely changed. my tune. These feel like sorta like deluxe accommodations. Queen bed AND a single-cup coffee maker!

Got my AP squared away lickety split and made my way in for a photo op. You'll have to excuse me, I'm not used to getting my photopass pics alone...

The wait time for SE was actually longer than TT so I opted to walk right in the single rider line, once that ride pic comes through I'll share it. I passed a few street performers along the way.

Finally I finished up with Soarin 1.5. I'm sorry but 1.0 is way better than this cluster. I did manage to get my feet in on the cation thanks to being crammed in the worst possible seat...

Waiting on the bus now to meet the ladies at our refurb room!

I'll say this, the refurb rooms are very nice but they just are NOT POP.

Moving on to the bathroom area

After I got back to the room we made for DTD for dinner. I've jonsing for Blaze pizza since it opened but my distaste for the new DTD kept me away. With POP being just around the corner it was too close to pass up. We ended up driving there an I gotta say, their new parking deck is VERY impressive. We were quickly parked and soon closing in on Blaze. For those that are unfamiliar this place allows you to build your own pie or choose from some house specialties. All pizzas are about $9.50 regardless of the number of toppings and you walk down an assembly line similarly to a Subway. There were many toppings, sauces, and cheese options to choose from. What's most amazing is how fast your pizza is ready. Literally 2 minutes after I paid our food was done! These pies were AMAZING and put VN to further shame.

My only complaint is this place needs to learn how to properly spell my name...just saying

The "generic-azation" (yes I made up that word) of the new Pop rooms is sad. The decades theming was much better IMO. If not for the Mickey heads in the light fixture it could be any room in any town USA.

The room looks nice! Not sure how it has the Pop Century theme but still very nice. I really like the color of paint in the sink area.

After dinner we came back to the room to drop one sleepy teen off and made for MK to activate the DWs AP and catch a few rides before closing. We had some special bus accommodations,turns out this actually was our bus.

Soon we were at GS activating theAP and walking down MSUAA

We made for POTC when we noticed these guys just hanging out

Unfortunately ourPOTC ride photo hasn't made it to my MDE yet. We then knocked out a BTM FP before battling some Zerg. I maxed out again and you can tell someone wasn't very happy about it

We ended our night with a SM trip before calling it quits.

Tomorrow is still up in the air but I'm pretty sure it will include pool time, a coin flip between Ample Hills and B&C, more pool time, theme park roulette, and somewhere new for dinner.

I absolutely LOVED Blaze!!! I could go for one of those pizzas right now, as a matter of fact.

Also... I've given you several wardrobe change suggestions in the past that would solve the random selection dilemma. Ditch the cargo shorts and throw on a princess tank with some shiny shoes and you're golden!
