So confused about MK evenings in December

Okay, I admit that I may be an obsessive planner, since we don't leave for our trip until 12/7! I was thrown off a bit because of the "unofficial" dates out for this years MVMCP. No Sundays?! That of course was the day I had planned on us going. So now our choices are the day we fly in,Thursday (we will have been up since 3 a.m.!) or Friday (which I hear nothing but bad things about the crowds). Monday night we have definite plans, and we fly home Tuesday. So here is the question (finally). I'm thinking of having us skip the MVMCP and instead go to a regular night and see Wishes. Saturday or Sunday I guess. I know they do Wishes every night, but what about an evening parade? Are there 2 evening parades, what kind of hours for that time of year? Because it is December and the parks close earlier, how does that work? Do they let people in right before the fireworks?? I'm so confused?? Should I risk the crowds on Friday night for MVMCP? Isn't Pop Warner and Mousefest going on around that time? (12/7-12/12) Please give me any opinions or info you would like to share. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

I think the dates are going to change. Until Disney releases them i wouldnt worry too much. We are going the week before and went that time last year and crowds were not that bad. The first two weeks in Decemeber are always the best anyways. I think they will have some Sunday MVMCP just cause it seems like they always have.

I cannot help you out that much in regards to the MVMCP because I haven't been there, but I too have a vacation booked in December. I am anxiously awaiting June 1st when the park hours will be released however I looked at last years park hours and they do not close the parks all that early in December. I believe Magic Kingdom and Epcot were both open til 9, and Studios was open til 8. Of course Animal Kingdom's hours were short like always. However, with all the added dates for the MVMCP I am sort of guessing they are expecting larger crowds this year and therefore may have longer than normal park hours. Like I said just my assumption based on the dates of the parties. Sorry I cannot help with the MVMCP dillemma for you.

even when it is busy its not BUSY...The Parties only allow 25,000 which is nothing. I feel that even on a busy night you can have fun. I mean I go there for the ambiance and to see the parade.

Cocoa and Coockies. Columbia harbor house great!

Shopping. Just fine unless you want the ornament...*sighs* sold out the first night...greedy merchendise hogs...They told me the sold out the first few nights that people were buying up to 5 of them..

Parade, like always get there early or watch the second one.

I think you will enjoy it also make firends with other guests. Our best time was talking to others. Heck our section at parade had inside jokes among us.

Key thing is don't worry about the crowds the peopel at the parties are usually regulars and cast. You should be able to have fun.

December hours?

 Just check out all the hours and parade hours when they come out. We have been to MVMCP in December and had lots of fun. they have really neat stage shows, hot cocoa several places with cookies. You get a free pic. taken and sent to your home. Only thing is, it was very cold at night. we werent dressed warm enough. Oh yeah, the parade was awesome, too. And the fireworks. Well worth it. Lots of people left before it closed. Go and have fun. have a magical stay. :sohappy:

I'm in the process of planning a trip around that same time b/c My Birthday is Dec 11th. I was trying to figure out for the longest what "MVMCP" meant. DOH! :brick: (yes i figured it out)

Anyway, keep me posted. I'm wondering the best dates to go and what's going on b/c I've never been around Christmas. :xmas:

Any tips on trip planning around that time?
