Small World Schedule

Does anyone know the schedule for the reopening of "It's a Small World?". I was about to book by February trip when I noticed it was closed! This was my kids favorite ride. I will need to break the news to them on the flight down.

Disney has it listed as Spring 2005. Other sites I've seen a mid-March date for it to reopen.

As for breaking the news to your kids.....you should probably wait until after you get off the plane, for the sake of the other passengers. :animwink:

Yes, it appears that Small World is undergoing a major rehab until Spring, 2005. It definately won't be operating in February. Sorry

Small World is the first and last ride my family always goes on at the park, so it was hard with no SW. However, there was a crack between the walls that are surrounding the ride, and I did peek in. Couldn't see too much, but I was able to get my SW fix at least!

Good luck telling your children. Maybe you can tell them (depending on their ages) that the dolls needed a vacation are visiting Disneyland so something like that!

The last that I had heard is that they are aiming to get ot open by the 2 major vacation weeks surrounding Easter.....think 3/20/05ish....I think the same is true for Soarin'.

Right now, theres nothing (completely drained, with construction going on in there). Many of Mary Blairs designs have dissapeared from the walls, and its in pretty bad shape.

I can't wait to see what it looks like when it opens, though... It should be awsome!

I'm probably in the minority of those who won't miss the ride while it's down for rehab. My mom made me go on that ride and played the soundtrack record so much when I was a kid that I refuse to go on it now.

We are going to florida in october and my sisters favourite ride is smallworld, She isnt too upset because she thinks the boat ride in mexico in world showcase is the same :S

Aww It's A Small World! I secretly love that ride. EVen though I usually make fun jokes about it, I do love it. It's my moms favorite. But if anyone going to WDW before it reopens in the spring is going to go through Small World withdrawls, you can alwasy go on that Jungle Cruise ride and in the temple start singing the song. That would be my suggestion to cope with the refurb.
