Skyway - liability concerns - people dropping things, doing naughty things, etc.

20,000 Leagues - low capacity, high operation costs, operations and maintenance CMs hated it

Mr. Toad - they needed a place to put Pooh, and Toad was the least-popular of the Fantasyland dark rides

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea - They closed because it was extremely expensive to maintain. The underwater animatronics were basically deterriorating and fall apart before your eyes.

Mr. Toad - They'll tell you that they simply wished to update this attraction, however I believe that they wanted to capitalize on the new popularity of Winnie The Pooh (I hate that bear....). Plus I heard that they didn't think that the kids of today even knew who Mr. Toad was.

Skycabs - I've heard a bunch of things about this. I've heard that it was expensive to maintain and that people were dropping things out of it and that someone even fell out of one once, however I'm not sure of the actual reason that they closed down. You may want to check the actually www.wdwmagic.com section that talks about the skycabs.. it may list the reason.

Happy hunting! Hope this helped!

I can still cope with them closing Toad and replacing it with a slightly improved ride. With 20,000 and the Sky Ride, they did nothing. Granted: removal of the sky ride is much less noticeable, but still, three rides gone, only one in return.

Sky Ride

This ride was closed down because of extensive maintenace cost and time. There are only a couple of companies that provide parts for these which makes the parts fairly expensive. Thus the increased maintenance cost probably made the decision for them to close it down.
