Hey all,

I might need a little help on this, but I swear the face on the pirate on the left (closest to the dog) in the jail scene looked different to me when I was at MK on Sunday. I seem to remember him looking a little more Sid Caesar-ish. Not sure when I'll get back to see again for myself, but I want to see if anyone else see's it too.

I'm not sure about this particular pirate, but I've also noticed in the past that some of the jail pirates have had different faces placed on them. I think one of the guys in the other cell away from the dog had a 'face lift' not too terribly long ago. Why, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that they've changed some of their faces.

The last time I saw Sid Caesar was on a recent airing of an old Who's Line is it Anyway Episode. I never made the connection before between him and that particular pirate (who appears elsewhere in the ride), but I'm sure I'll always see it from here on out.

Not that you're asking me, but 44 here. Of course we know who Sid Caesar is!

Anyone raised on the classics of the Disney films should also have a knowledge of radio, television and movie history to appreciate the people often utilized or referenced, some of them legendary in the entertainment biz.
It just makes watching stuff more fun.

TCM is a wonderful channel for this.

TiVo and TCM and I'm a happy guy.

Those, and the collection of silver tins full of Disney Treasures

And I'm only 38 and have associated that pirate with the legendary Sid Caesar for as long as I can remember. (There seems to be conflicting stories on whether or not it was intentionally made to look like Sid).

37 and I knew who the great Sid Caesar was!

And, I believe the one on the far right is a resemblance of Marc Davis.

Another Great movie Sid is in is "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World"

One of my favorite comedies. I'm also a great fan of Jonathan Winters. I've seen both of them being given a single word or off the cuff situation and they go on and on improvising. Makes you roll on the floor with laughter.

The story goes that the Imagineers, while in the design process of Pirates, would often draw pictures of interesting faces of fellow diners that they saw while eating dinner. The one that looks like Sid could theoretically actually have been modeled after him.
