Yesterday, Disney revealed much of what will be going into Shanghai Disneyland when it opens next year.

Parks Blog Link.

For starter's, here's a scale model of the entire park.

Also, here's a construction time-lapse.

Instead of Main Street, Shanghai gets Mickey Avenue.

Tomorrowland's main attraction will be called TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Looks fun.

The other attractions for Tomorrowland include Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue, which will feature jetpack ride vehicles, a dance party (groan), and yet another spaceship spinner.

Nearby (?), there are two other experiences named Star Wars Launch Bay and Marvel Universe. Does Star Wars Launch Bay sound exciting? Don't worry, it isn't.

It's just an advert for Star Wars 7. Marvel Universe is just Art of Animation, but with Marvel.

Adventure Isle might have been the least hyped land, but MAN is there some promising stuff here.

Get ready for another mountain, Roaring Mountain, featuring the flagship ride of the land, Roaring Rapids.

Other attractions in Adventure Isle include the promised Soaring Over the Horizon, a new play area called "Camp Discovery", and a Tarzan stage show.

Fantasyland will be the largest land at Shanghai Disneyland.

The flagship ride of Fantasyland will be Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, which seems to be a "Great Movie Ride" with Disney characters.

Other attractions in Fantasyland include everyone's favorite ride from WDW, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, as well as Peter Pan's Flight, a Wonderland maze, and the Hundred Acre Wood.

The last land at Shanghai Disneyland will be Treasure Cove, featuring everyone's favorite pirates.

So far, what looks like the only attraction here will be Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, which may include thrill elements.

Also expected at the resort are the Disneyland and Toy Story hotels, as well as Disneytown, Shanghai's version of Downtown Disney.

Disneytown will be in the park adjacent to Mickey Avenue and will feature a Mandarin port of The Lion King musical, straight from Broadway.

The Disneyland Hotel looks to be similar to a Deluxe, with the Toy Story Hotel being similar to a Value.

See I have been thinking for the longest time what is stopping Disney from having a dedicated real musical on property for guests? I think a genius place for a venue like that would be Downtown Disney. Alternate the shows every now and again with other Disney productions, it could be a fantastic experience.

Kind of lite on attractions isn't it?
  • Adventureland E ticket
  • Pirates E ticket
  • Tomorrowland Tron E ticket
  • Soarin round the world
  • Crystal Grotto
  • Fantasia carousel
  • Dumbo
  • Buzz dark ride
  • Jet Pack Spinner
  • Peter Pan
  • Mine Train
  • Winnie the pooh
  • Alice Maze
  • Pirates E ticket show
  • Tarzan show
  • Tomorrowland stage possible show?
  • Nighttime spectacular
  • Marvel c ticket walkthrough + animation academy
  • Mickey daytime parade
And this is only the confirmed stuff. Missing are the c and b tickets around the park. Is this a light opening for a brand new theme park? Not in the slightest.

  2. Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  3. Voyage to the Crystal Grotto
  4. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  5. Peter Pan's Flight
  6. Hundred Acre Wood (I might be wrong on this one)
  7. Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure
  8. Roaring Rapids
  9. Soaring over the Horizon
  10. TRON Lightcycle Power Run

It does kinda feel weird that the Alice Maze is based on the Tim Burton version for me, it is such a different level for Fantasyland, I wished it was the original Disney Animated version, but the rest is amazing and I can't wait to visit it one day!!

While the park has an ok number of attractions for opening day, with the parks delayed opening and a supposed extra $800 million for more attractions, I expected a few more things.

It looks pretty, and the rapids ride and Tron look sweet.

I'm confused about Pooh though...is it a dark ride or a spinner/teacups style ride?

There is enough place for expansion, it will be an amazing park for sure. Also its a tea cup spinner ride
