From the desk of the CDC, anyone coming from China, Hong Kong, or Macau into the United States will need to be tested for COVID-19 at least 2 days prior to departure, regardless of vaccination status.

For all of us headed to China (Universal Beijing and Shanghai Disneyland!), we'll just need a negative test result from the last 48 hours. From the State Council via SCMP.

Hong Kong and Macau (Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park), will need not only a negative test result, but proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.

In addition, as of December 23, 2022, the US Department of State issued the following travel advisory (Level 3) for Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau...
Reconsider travel to the People’s Republic of China (PRC), including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Macau SAR, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, and COVID-19-related restrictions. See specific risks and conditions in each jurisdiction below. Access to medical care, including treatment in hospitals and ambulance service, may be delayed or limited. Commercial transportation options are available. Exercise increased caution in the PRC due to wrongful detentions.

The U.S. government is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and may change this guidance again quickly in response to emergent concerns. Please check back frequently for any changes.

Lunar New Year celebrations start on January 13!

"With the Chinese New Year fast approaching, Shanghai Disney Resort is inviting guests to hop into the Year of the Rabbit by hosting a resort-wide celebration from January 13 through February 10, 2023.

"During the spring festival event, guests will be treated to traditional festive décor with a Disney twist, delightful limited-time character greetings, Year of the Rabbit-themed food and drink, and a ton of new merchandise.

"2022 is the Year of the Rabbit, so it is only fitting that Judy Hopps from Zootopia will feature prominently in the festival, especially with Shanghai Disneyland’s Zootopia expansion opening later this year. Judy will receive her own mosaic amongst the twelve zodiac signs in the Garden of the Twelve Friends to celebrate the occasion.
