Shanghai - “Ignite the Dream” original version

So I just came across this old video from 2016 when Shanghai was almost open. I remember it because it was a pretty significant leak at the time - but I wanted to share again because it shows some really interesting things:

1) it utilizes a demo of the original titular theme of “Ignite the Dream” before it was switched out with “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes.” Just shows how much of a late stage switch it was if the original theme made it to in-park test shows.

2) that Disney was actually testing high-level pyrotechnics in Shanghai before eventually reducing and then altogether abandoning them.

Interesting stuff, but thought people on here might enjoy it.

Just a note that they do use high level pyro. Just not with the boomy boom sound level of Orlando (aside from seasonal offerings when it’s a WW3 level of intensity)

So they didn't bc of government restrictions? I remember first time coming over being very disappointed with the fireworks, with it being china and all.

High level from offstage on the left, smoke from in park on the right:

I also caught the end of a Halloween show test from Toy Story Hotel last October that would put HEA to shame. Google Earth has a great shot of the most defined backstage launch pads of any Disney park !

Things may have changed but when the park opened I do believe there were restrictions on pyro due to the air quality levels in China.
