WOW, a 2 year old who has seen Finding Nemo only 50 times?!?! That's a new record in my book for least times a 2 year old saw Finding Nemo :D

Yes, if she had her choice it would have played morning, noon and night. I could only handle it so much so I bought Lilo and Stitch and Monsters so we could watch something different. She only took to Monsters really quickly. She has one of those Minnie Mouse TV's and DVD's that she got for her 2nd birthday, so we are only recently building up her dvd's.

Thanks, wdwfreak. That was an excellent interpretation of the movie. As I said, I will give it another chance. Maybe this time I will watch it without the two year old who was completely uninterested and was screaming to put in Monsters Inc. instead. She kind of took away from it for all of us. Monsters Inc is her latest stage after 50 times of Finding Nemo.

Hey...just think...if you don't like it after your second viewing...Nobody here will like you and then you'll know what Lilo and Stitch were going through

(jk of course!) We'll like you even if you don't like the movie

How could you not feel for the characters? Lilo was an "outcast", didn't have any friends, just lost her family...her sister was struggling with everything and the one thing she wanted more than anything...(her little sister) was falling out of her reach. Lilo just wanted one thing in her life...a friend...someone she could rely on...someone she could talk to...someone she could relate to...to help her cope with the loss of her parents. Then comes Stitch...who she falls in love with right away. Stitch also didn't have any "friends"...everyone he knew wanted him "gone." Stitch grew to "feel" for Lilo and wanted the same things that Lilo wanted..."SOMEONE." Sure, Stitch is a little "rough around the edges" but wouldn't you be if you had nothing? No reason in life...no reason to love...no reason to exist. Lilo was a little rough around the edges too...because she only had a sister...who she thought didn't want her because she was too much of a burden on her.

Throughout the movie you see that Lilo realizes that her life isn't all bad once Stitch comes into her life. Stitch truly has nothing...not even a name! Lilo became the "parent" who teaches Stitch that there is a reason to live, laugh, and love.

I think the characters appeal to a lot of people because everybody (at one point in their life) has been down in the dumps...and needs a "figure" to relate to...Stitch and Lilo are those figures. Kids love Stitch because (boys like him because he looks like a monster and girls like him because he's "cute" at the same time  ) he gets into trouble a lot!

I dunno...that's my take on it :)

Well I guess that's one way to look at it. The movie just didn't do it for me and I never really became sympathetic to the characters. It's probably my least favorite Disney animated movie and I would still give it a "C", so it wasn't one of my least favorite films of all time or anything. I really didn't care for Lilo or Stitch. Oh well different strokes for different folks. Not everyone liked Brother Bear or The Emperor's New Groove and those were 2 of my favorite Disney films.
