Trip Report Semi-live, Visiting w/ a Brazilian Tour Group of Cheerleaders celebrating Jersey Spring Break

Ok, hopefully the title of this report got your attention. Technically none of it is accurate. It was just shameless Disney TR click bait. But since you're here, you might as well follow along. Plus, I have embedded a computer code so if you try and leave it will instantly direct you to a non stop loop of the JG Wentworth theme song which will play in the background whenever your computer is on. If you leave, I hope you have a structured settlement but you need cash now.

Ok then, For those of you still here, allow me to present the details of this PTR.

Who: My wife and I

ck.jpg

Where: AKL

When: July

Why?: Basically, I want my wife to win the Tuvalu 500 (which is the race for most visits to WDW in 2018). @blgauger , you are excluded from this competition since you live like 2 minutes away from WDW and plus, you need to focus on riding BTMRR as many times as possible!! My wife has some stiff competition between @Tuvalu , @TrolleyFollower91 , @sheriffwoody , @lostpro9het , @imahistorygeek and several others. We are almost half way through 2018 and its a close race!

I encourage anybody reading this report to please post how many visits you have so far this year. Even if its just one or two, feel free to compete. And FYI, this a friendly competition and there is really no win or loose. But lets face it, we are all losers here, considering we spend so much time on an unofficial fan forum of WDW:D:cool::cool:. But we are the COOLEST losers ever!!!

Aside from it being my wifes 5th trip this year, I am very much looking forward to returning to AKL. Even though I stayed there last summer for a few nights with my family, its been a few years since C and I have stayed there together. And now that we are official DVC Members, I constantly check availability and the other day I saw a few days open at AKL (Jambo) so I snagged it. It just so happened to be the morning that C and her mom were heading home from their recent Disney trip (this past Friday), so when I called to let her know, it definitely perked her up. She is not a fan of the Fla humidity in Summer but she is willing to deal with it for me. We will just try and avoid the extreme heat in the afternoons. No ADR's planned yet but Ill keep this updated as we get closer.

Have a great day everybody!

Just found this, thanks for the coffee-snort-over-iPad this am with your first paragraph :hilarious: Have a great trip!
I’m the reason we haven’t started more home projects-cleared and leveled backyard two years ago in anticipation of expanding deck off kitchen (we have a walkout lower level so it’s elevated), then oldest kid got into the DCP and APs last fall...and on her second program this summer...home budget became travel budget.
Trips this year (does the one started dec 30-Jan 4 count as technically was this year too): with Jan counted 4 plus 1 more, maybe 2.

I encourage anybody reading this report to please post how many visits you have so far this year.

Zero real trips, 3 loser visits:

1 to DS.
1 to see @Tuvalu at POFQ.
1 to DVC in Hilton Head.

None of these lasted more than an hour or two.

My deck, however, lasted a solid 8 years. (Ha!)

(Need to redo the floor panels again soon.)

Here we gooooooooo!!!!

And don't worry, @lostpro9het , I stocked up well...

In ordered the "9" biscuit , ( chicken, cheese, thick cut bacon and sausage gravy). Got it to go (hence the gravy in a cup). C and her mom stopped here before. I gotta say, that place is GOOD!! Definitely worth a stop if your hungry on the drive down. It's a fun place because instead of asking for your name to call out when your order is ready, they ask what's your favorite song, or band, or movie, etc. We overheard the girl yell out, "I got a biscuit for Jurassic Park" when we walked in.

Livin' it up! I'm excited to try the Rogue Marionberry Sour. And the 3 Sisters Beach Blonde and Bimini Twist are local breweries that I have not tried. @lostpro9het , have you given them a whirl?

Freshening up and headed to HS soon. Thanks for following along!!

I don’t drink sours so no on the Rouge. Ive had the Goose 4star pils and my Untappd notes read “it says 4 stars but I only give it 3”. Never had 3 Daughters before. Overall I've not been impressed with Florida breweries outside if Cigar City’s Maduro, CC’s Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout, and the Cask and Larder Working Man’s Porter.

Star Tours was the first ride of the trip. Got the new scenes from Last Jedi and C was the Rebel spy!!!

And it would be uncivilized to leave Star Tours and not stop at Baseline Taphouse with it being so close.

Stone IPA for me, Scrimshaw Pilsner for C and the bartender whipped up a sweet pink lemonade for the minor. We all.shared a pretzel.

The woman next to me was vlogging in Spanish. She was fun. We hollered and hooted the whole ride.

We really enjoyed Slinky Dog. It's nothing mind-blowing but it was much better than we all expected and much bigger (in terms of height and length).

We strolled around TSL for awhile but it was seriously hot and muggy and all the people crammed in there didn't make it better. But the land itself was pretty impressive. We will back for Alien Saucers soon.

Up.next was ToT. As we approached the entrance, a tour group of appx 50 people Completely bombarded the FP entrance. We ended up being in the middle of the group as we went through the entrance. We walked up until the fountain area where the FP line stopped. As we waited, people from the tour group were trying to cut in front of us. After three people pushed passed us I was done and refused to let anyone else pass. Needless to say they were not happy but they knew it wasn't gonna happen. All they had to do was ask politely, but they insisted on simply leaning into us until.we moved. Homey don't play dat! Especially with my 11 year old niece. As we approached the second checkpoint, a tour guide recognized I was not allowing any nonsense, but she politely asked me if a few of them could join the group ahead of us and I obliged. Most of them were young children and the tour guide was an adult and was very nice about it so I did not mind, but don't push my 11 year old niece lest you face my wrath!!! Afterwards, We boarded our elevator and had a great ride

After ToT we were hot and a little tired so we headed back for a dip in the pool. It's been a few years since I've actually gotten in the pool at Disney and I forgot how relaxing it is. We had a blast and AKL having a poolside bar doesn't hurt
IMG_20180709_211315.jpg

Afterwards we hit the Maara for some pizza and sandwiches and headed back to the room for the night.
