For those that don't distrust Screamscape, you might want to avoid clicking the link and wait for a more "trustworthy" source. :drevil:

Seriously though, looks like RFID is making its debut in the parks. Interesting that it looks like Stitch is going to be one of the first to go live with it.

I thought the same thing... those that were quick to bash screamscape...well... :hammer: lol

How true. Like most sites and blogs, there are hits and misses; however, I distinctly recall that Screamscape was the absolute first site to reveal that the new Disney Dream cruise ship was going to have "a water slide tube that extended over the edge of and around the entire ship," a.k.a. what we now know as the Aquaduck. Those who read that "rumor" similarly dismissed it as garbage and the site as nonsense. We've learned it was correct.

Here is the way I see it. Screamscape seems to have a pretty wide filter in that they will seemingly put up almost anything that crosses their desk as soon as they have it. That will result in two things. Quite a few misses and a few "You heard it here first!". It is not unlike a psychic that throws up a thousand predictions and hits on two. They are bound to be right, some of the time. Because of this wide filter they are not on the top of my list for news sources. There are simply to many shots in the dark to sort through. However, calling any source a fraud, wrong, etc based solely on their past reputation and not conflicting evidence is logical fallacy commonly called the Genetic Fallacy. While I feel the obligatory "take it with a grain of salt" statement is warranted, calling the information false with no supporting evidence is simply wrong.

If it's a Disney rumor, it should always be with a grain of salt. As most of us around here know, it could just as easily be cancelled or indefinitely delayed before it ever makes light of day. ie. Star Tours upgrade was rumored for more than 10 years by many, as well as numerous other projects that were rumored to be in planning, then officially announced, but never built. As one imagineer said, "good ideas at imagineering never die". Which means, if there is any legitimacy to a rumor, it may not actually see light of day, but parts of it might if they can find a way to make them happen or use them elsewhere. Which, I should add, Screamscape and others are reporting that DLP is planning a Star Wars mini-land, which if I remember correctly, was at one point rumored for DHS.

I think sometimes Screamscape and others, names not to be mentioned, are used as stooges to expose internal leaks, and then sometimes they're even used legitimately to leak something in hopes of it going viral.

Regardless, this isn't a rumor, it's an actual picture of something in the parks that hasn't been officially announced to the public. As I see it, they're just reporting what they, or in this case, what somebody sent them a picture of.

I just noticed there's a sticky note on the front of it labeled "STITCH". I assume that means there are others being delivered/installed soon. Has anybody spotted any at other attractions?

Go to twitter.com/disneyprojects, new RFID reader at Philharmagic. I think we're seeing xpass soon.

I doubt these are xPass machines. That makes no sense based on what is known about xPass. Why would there be machines at each attraction if you've already planned out your day's attractions?

So do think these new machines are X pass machines or just new FastPass machines with RFID scanning capability? I was picturing since X passes are reserved ahead of time, that you could print them at home, they would be mailed to you, you would get them at the front gate or your resort or maybe you can pick all of them up at any new FastPass Machine.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to it.

A bunch more rides. Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, peter pan, something is going on. Some details on how it looks also appeared. I have no inside knowledge on what this is, But something is happening.

Look for Disney to make an official announcement on this VERY shortly. The technology is there, just waiting for them to flick the switch.
