News Scat Cat’s Club Café and Lounge Closing in October for Refurbishment at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Disney says Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge will be temporarily closed for refurbishment starting October 6, 2026. The café is expected to reopen in December and the lounge is expected to reopen in January 2027.

During the refurbishment, beignets and coffee will be available at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory (Ghoulish Delight beignets will be available there through November 1). A temporary bar will also be available near the café from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

curious to see how this turns out, both venues were currently being used for a purpose they were not built for. The cafe was originally the bar and the bar was a TSR. They were both changed to their current setup with minimal budget and infrastructure updates, the bar is basically a pop up bar set up, the longer downtime for this area might be to install a properly functioning permanent bar.

Also, Disney, please don’t ruin the theming! You’ve been doing so well lately!

Its going to get pretty cramped and congested if the number of people arriving who want beignets are similar to when we were at POFQ. With the Scat Cat Club separated from the Floatworks area there was no issue serving.

Hopefully the focus is more operations and less about cosmetics. Both areas are quite charming but neither are an ideal setup operations wise.

We were set to stay at POFQ for the first time from December 1st through the 8th. Scat Cat's was near the top of the list of reasons why. Thanks for posting about the closure, I just changed our reservation and we'll try it again at a later date.

Too bad. Theres plenty of things that makes POFQ a wonderful resort to stay at. Scat Cat club is a very minor part of the resorts charm. What made it so vital to your stay that you would relocate?
