Saratoga Springs on Dvc points

Hello we are renting DVC points.our first time doing so. Our first choice is Boardwalk standard which if we do not get we asked for Saratoga Springs The Grandstand only. We found out you cannot request a specific area. The DVC owner can present your wishes on your behalf but no guarantee and we were told we can also ask upon check in. We have used touring plans in the past and always works out. We are staying the first two weeks of December 2025. We picked Grandstand as it is bus stop 1 has its own pool and close to Carriage house. For those that may know Saratoga well. Because if we do not get Boardwalk we can turn down Saratoga, what do you feel the chances of getting a room at the Grandstand would be or even wehave heard Paddick has own pool and is not far from Carriage house. I know noone can say for sure but do those areas fill up soon or would we have a chance when getting there. Last if we asked for springs could we walk across to bus stop one? I assume you will be booking a Standard room at SSR. That could be at The Grandstand, The Paddock or The Carousel.

You can still use Touring Plans to request your location. Simply ask for the Grandstand area.

Just ensure that if you ask the owner to make a request that it doesn’t contradict your Touring Plans request.

I wouldn’t wait until you arrive. DVC operates at a much higher occupancy rate than regular resorts and there might not be rooms available to switch you.

Everything except Carousel has its "own" pool. Grandstand does have a pool bar, if that is what you are looking for. Grandstand is also kind of removed from the Carriage House.

Carousel is really the only location that I find really far. Everything else is just "kinda" far. In December it should not be blazing hot, so the walk is not that bad from anywhere to the Carriage House or the High Rock Springs pool.

Bus stop 1 is really only important if you are an early park attendee, that way you are getting first shot at incoming busses. The downside is you get to do the grand tour of Saratoga Springs before it actually leaves for whatever park you are headed to.

When booking rooms at SSR you can choose Standard or Preferred. Standard are Paddock, Carousel, and Grandstand. Preferred are Springs and Congress Park.

If you are booking through a broker that can get you points from an SSR owner, you should have no issues booking either Standard or Preferred at 7 months. What you get WITHIN those categories is pretty random.

As long as you're not overly choosy on where in Grandstand your room is, I'd say you have a pretty good chance of getting Grandstand as long as both the owner puts it in your reservation and you use Touring Plans to make your room request.

After all, Grandstand is 4 of the 11 Standard buildings. So odds aren't that bad to begin with.
