Saratoga Springs best location w/ kids

We will be staying 3 nights at saratoga springs -- I wanted to put in preference for out online check in, but i am unsure of what is the best section if we are traveling with 2 9 year old boys and a 19 month old. I see that there is a sections that is real close to downtown disney, which might be cool to be able to walk over in the evening, but we also don't want to be to far away from dining places at SSR. We are traveling there for New years so we really are not expecting it to be pool weather, so not a necessity to be where the main big pool is. Any suggestions?

For those of you who have stayed there -- are any of the locations walkable to the restaurants. Are there restaurants at downtown disney that if we stayed in the closest section we could walk to? I hate to be dependent upon a bus to get around the property.

Stay at the paddock short walk to downtown disney and also a short walk to main building for food. About 6 minute walk to either place

Last month we stayed at "The Springs" for the main building access - Breakfast, Restaurant, Billiards, Main Pool, Jacuzzi, Arcarde, Spa, Boat to DTD. It was extremely pleasant.

It would seem the cold fronts are coming to FL earlier this year. It would not be out of the question, a very chilly one hits Orlando around New Years. Something to keep in mind when needing to walk back to the resort (from DTD), sometimes you just want to be back to your room asap.

We stayed in the Grandstand section and I always recommend it. It was the first stop on the bus line, so we often were able to get a seat. It has it's own pool which was nice, and was only a 5 min walk from the main building with the restaurants and one of the feature pools. Also a 5 min walk away from the boat launch to Downtown Disney.
