Poor guy. His reindeer left him and he has to fend for himself. I'd probably hit the ol' eggnog myself.

Video or it didn't happen!

There is a video clip on Facebook but it shows it after it happened. So here's a screenshot from Twitter from LaughingPlace

Maybe it's time for a brand new Christmas Parade in the future.

It's been time for a brand new Christmas parade for at least 15 years. Parades should never run this long unless they are refreshed constantly (Dreamlights has been running for 17 years and it's been updated and redesigned many times). Some of ACF has been redesigned - this Santa float is one of the newer floats and it was introduced in 2005 or 2006 - but not enough. And ACF has been shortened as well, with many characters removed over the years. It's been a zombie parade for a long time and desperately needs to be replaced.

And so does Believe...In Holiday Magic. When your park's major Christmas entertainment predates the George W. Bush administration, there's a problem.

MAYBE it's not a great idea to use parade floats for 10 years+. This float is 13 years old, and some of ACF is 24 years old.
Try telling that to WDW, who still regularly trots out the old mirror castle float that was originally built for MK's Tencennial parade way back in 1981. Many of the other smaller floats in the parade (princess gazebo, music box, wrapped gifts, etc.) appear to be a similar vintage. And this is for a parade that's performed exclusively at the upcharge parties and during Christmas week (when the park is too busy to shut down early for the party). Their Halloween parade is similarly littered with old floats from the Vacation Kingdom era.

Sadly for Anaheim, the Santa float is actually one of the newer ones in that parade. [Edit: Although "A Christmas Fantasy" parade debuted in 1994, most of the major elements were redressed versions of things that had already been in the park for years.] I believe only the toy factory is newer (debuting circa 2007-08), though several have had overhauls, like the conversion of Mickey & Minnie's ice rink into the Frozen float. At least they don't have the gall to charge extra (yet) for the privilege of watching the parade creak its way through the park

I'm having a feeling WDW's Mickey's Boo To You Parade and Ounce Upon A Christmas Time Parade might actually beat A Christmas Fantasy if they keep on running the same parade for another decade.

At least Disneyland gotten a new Halloween parade even if it's short. I seriously love Ursula's appearance in the parade.

At least Tokyo and Paris are the only Disney parks that's able to get new seasonal parades more often.

The most notably old floats at WDW outside of the castle float would have to be the Barn section where Clara Cluck was in and the two floats that had a house where Geppetto used to stand on before being replaced by Horace who got replaced by Scrooge who is now replaced by Ralph. Those floats deserved to finally get retired someday. Those floats had been at WDW since the mid 1980s

WDW has long been the worst offender in the using floats for too long department. Sad that DLR is trying to catch up.
