Hi all

Provisionally requested this building as it seems to have good views of theme park which we have paid for - anyone stayed there? Any thoughts? Preferences? At 45 days and yearning to find out more. We arrive from UK for 3 glorious weeks in this resort and obviously the room is vital - as much information as you can delightful people

Thanks

We just returned from a glorious week in Sago Cay. The building reopened after its refurbishment on June 1 and we were the first guests to stay in our room :joyfull:. The redo is simply beautiful, and every time we walked into the building we experienced that "new carpet smell."

We also had a theme park view room. Those rooms are on the far end of the building where Sago is 4 stories high (the mid-section has 5 stories.) We wanted an upper floor and requested 3rd. We did not want the 4th floor as those are dormer rooms. Some folks like the high ceilings (and sense of greater space) of a dormer room, but we like sitting out on the balcony and having unobstructed views from inside the room. Dormer rooms have enclosed balconies, so you need to stand (rather than sit) on them in order to see the view.

We watched the fireworks every night from the balcony. You can hear the soundtrack from the MK, only it is a bit delayed as the sound travels across the water. You can also hear other noises from the MK ~ the train whistle, music from the parades, even the wolf howling from the Haunted Mansion! It is also fun to watch all the activity around the lake, from the monorails to the watercraft.

We were not able to see the entire Electrical Water Pageant (on the lagoon) from our balcony, just the serpent and the whale (first 4 barges). If you want to see the whole thing, you need to go to the marina area or boat dock.

Nightly turndown service was a wonderful treat and the Belgian chocolates left on the pillow were delish!

We utilized the main pool rather than the beach pool, as it was a closer walk from Sago. Note that if you get the refillable mugs, you cannot have them refilled at the main pool ~ the beach pool has the refill machine (as does Gasparilla's, the quick serve location just steps from Sago.)

You can order food from both pool bars, but you can only get the amazing chicken salad on a Brioche roll from the beach pool bar :hungry:.

There is a path to the bus stop between Sago and the main building so you don't need to walk all the way through the lobby and out the front door to catch a bus.

When visiting the MK, we rode the monorail there and took the boat back. The boat stops at GF first before going to Poly. So you can ride the boat to MK, just know it will go to the Poly first.

There is also a path between GF and the Poly which is a delightful walk in the cool of the evening.

Very jealous that you get to stay for 3 weeks! We certainly could have stayed much longer.

I cannot thank you enough for this very full reply - do you have any photos by any chance? All I know is we have an outer building theme park view room and on online check in it felt like Sago may be a good choice - many thanks again

This was the view of Wishes from our room in Boca Chica building in 2008

We had a 'Seven seas lagoon view' but could see the Castle, the Contemporary, the Poly, the geezer from WL, the water pageant and the ferry boat crossing from the TTC to the MK!

Happy Days!

You can see the castle on the right, you can also see the monorail track, unfortunately I have no photos of the monorail! This was 6 years ago so I'm not sure how the trees affect the view now.

We had the pleasure to stay in sago a few years ago and it was wonderful! Great location to hop a bus also close to gasparilla. Also very quiet. You will have a wonderful visit!

Thank you from the bottom of our heart for these photos - they help us plan so much more - cannot wait -44 days
You are going to have such a great time! I'm so jealous!

Gorgeous! Now I need to grab a room at the GF pre-cruise again! ;)
I kept wishing we were going on a cruise after our stay! The service was exceptional (Except that no one had my drink order for dinner waiting on the table before I arrived :inlove:)

This was our view from Conch Key, we just got back and love this buildings location to the boat dock, after a day at the Magic Kingdom it's a very short walk to your room. Have fun!

We loved Conch Key, stayed in that building twice. Love the view and you are able to watch both the fireworks and Electrical Water Parade from the balcony!!

This might seem a little bizarre but last two times I was at the GF the elevators in Big Pine Key and Boca Chica are really in need of repair. They are so painfully slow and kind of dingy. I might be just overly picky...

The ones in Sago were actually shiny and not too slow. I am sure they worked on the elevators when each building was down for refurb.
