RUMOR WATCH: Indiana Jones stuntshow on the chopping block ?

ANY chance they would be re-adding Indy to DHS in the future? That is, if they DO take it out? I would love to see some actual ride or attraction that would be as awesome as the Indy coaster in France or Temple of the Forbidden Eye out west (which I'm hopefully going to see for the first time in Feb.)...

Won't hold my breath...of course...

Wow; Start the thread, go to bed, and come back to four pages and 66 posts. Amazing.

So it is just a rumor or is it confirmed ?

The last day listed for times on the Disney website is January 30. I don't know if disney doesn't show the times that far in advance but that's where the times stop.

DLP has an Indiana Jones ride, but it's a roller coaster, not a dark ride like the ones in TDS/DL (the later two rides being virtually the same IIRC).

Confusing things more, DisneySea also has a clone of the Indiana Jones ride from Paris, Raging Spirits, only it's not themed to Indy there (but is situated next door).

In the early 90's, yes. It's extremely dated now though.

I still love it, even though every time I try to watch it 'one last time' bad weather means they have to run the 'B-mode' version of the show without the plane, which is annoying.

It always seems to play to packed crowds, and must be far cheaper to put on than LMA. They could change a few things in the script, like implying the guy is actually Harrison Ford's real stunt double, but the basic show is still impressive to newcomers.

I'll be very sad if it goes, but hopefully it can sit alongside an expanded Indy presence instead of being the usual TDO giving with one hand while taking away with the other.

Is there any ride/attraction in DHS that hasn't been rumored to close in the near future?
ToT
RnRC
Star Tours
TSMM

Those are the only 4 that are going to be left alone I think :p

But if a Star Wars family dark ride (no reason for a Star Wars thrill ride if IJA is next door) and Indiana Jones Adventure both came to DHS... oh boy!!

Then, use the speedbike coaster concept for TRON in Tomorrowland. And make Monsters Inc the new coaster for DHS.

I haven't seen the show in years. A good once in a while show. But MGM doesn't need anything else to close right now. Not unless more attractions are ready to open which is most likely another decade.

From the opposing point of view, Why do you assume TDO is going to do a 'Star Wars' land, All Iger said was there will be an increased PRESENCE in the 'PARKS' not specifically DHS or even US based parks.

It's also possible that DHS will be the site of the first in park DVC and DHS will become a 'festival' park.
I never assume anything. If I say something, you can assume that I know what is happening. Or not.

Yeah, the front gates! ;-)

Adding on to the Lucasland concept, they can keep the Sci-fi Dine-In and simply rename it "The American Grafitti Dine-in", and if they don't start adding things soon, they'll need the THX-1138 attraction where android police keep us at bay while making guests take mandatory emotion suppressing drugs. That way they can keep Indy, Jedi, & Star Tours and Lucasland is complete.

I would love for RnRC to be replaced or heavily rethemed.
