Rumor of direct price increase for sold out resorts

I'm seeing this more than one place. The rumor is by the end of the month, they are raising prices of the sold out resorts by as much as $50/point. Speculation is that RR is not selling well and they want to make it look more appealing to the buyers.

Anyone else hear or see this? I think they'll be shooting themselves in the foot by doing so.

Yes, i think its a poor idea but that seems to be the Disney way as of late. We’re a little worried as we have a 50-point at VGC that just went to ROFR that we thing may get scooped up now seeing these increases.

I haven't seen an agreed upon list yet. I doubt they will raise as high as $50 but I've seen that mentioned. I'm sure we'll have confirmation soon though since it's supposed to be the end of the month.

Good luck with your VGC contract. I hope it doesn't get scooped up from you.

IMO, and others that I’ve read, that is the reason. That false inflation a la the DDP to make the buyer feel value in what they are getting. The soft sales makes me wonder what they will rig prices too when the River Country property comes online.

Over $200 a point for only 22 more years? IMHO that is just nuts! I did a direct add-on of 50 points at BWV a few years ago (2016 I think?) at $165 a point and was on the fence about the price then (but didn't want to wait for resale). Honestly I'm glad I have all the points I have now, I couldn't imagine buying anything new.

It really is a testament to how much more valuable visiting the resort is as compared to many of the posters here try to make it seem.

I am honestly concerned with Reflections comes around. I know DVD/DVC wants to sell resorts but I think they've done too much too quick.

I wonder what will happen with all of this.

The Old Resorts are better . One generally charges higher prices for superior goods . SO glad we have 300 BRV points - Direct from Disney .

PS - notice that the lowest increases are at Aulani & Stogie Springs? . Neither doing that well.

I'm reading the chart a different way.... Quality, lowest to Highest .
