Took the family to see Rise of the Guardians today. Im not normally a big Dreamworks fan, but I must say that this movie was really, really good. One of the first things I thought after it was over was "Why doesnt Disney do story lines like this anymore?".

I realize the characters are well known, but the personalities added to them in the movie were really well thought out. The story line in tying all of them together, excellent. This movie did a real good job leaving you feeling inspired and hopeful. Much more so than many of the recent Disney offerings.

I would recommend this movie to anyone, even those without kids.

I didn't think it was that good. I thought it was a kiddie version of the avengers. I guess it was good for little kids, but other dreamworks movies have done more for me like Madagascar and shrek

My son had his birthday party at the movie theatre and the 6 kids loved it and the adults liked it too. The 3-D was really cool...especially the snowing parts.

Same here, just thought it was a little dark at times.

I consider Madagascar and Shrek more about the punchlines than the story. All my family felt the story and characters in Guardians were well done. Yes, it's not for 3- and 4- year olds but it wasn't written for them anyway. This is for Juniors and that would include the same audience that reads Goosebumps. (besides NOT being a Christmas movie). I think it had just the right amount of balance - you know, the whole there is no good w/o evil kinda thing.

My only complaint? North's outfit. I would have preferred something more Ded Moroz-oriented considering his speech rather than the basic red robe.

I took the wife kids to see it, and from what I saw, I liked. Unfortunately, whenever I take the kids to a kiddie movie, I fall asleep, so I missed about half of it.
