Rider Switch for adults?

Does anyone know with Rider Switch, is it just for kids?

For example, my wife and I are going with our 9 and 7 year olds. Problem is my wife doesn't like rides like Splash Mountain, but me and both kids do.

Can we use Rider Swap so I can take both kids? For something like Splash both are too small to sit by themselves.

When I was a single mom I was able to fit in the same row as my two boys, you probably will also.

Unless they've changed the policy, they haven't allowed 3-across on Splash Mountain since they installed the lap bars.

On topic, I would be interested to hear from people who can answer the OP's question. If there's no "official" solution, I would suggest booking FP+ for all 4 family members for these types of rides. Dad and Child 1 arrive at the opening of their FP window and ride. Then, Dad takes Mom's Magic Band and enters FP Queue with Child 2.

They have not been stopping people from using someone else's Magic Band when entering a FP queue, so this would work for the time being.

You definitely can ride 3 in a row. My extended family did it in June.

You should be able to do this. So if you leave one kid behind with the mom, just come up to the front, let them know that the child will be staying behind with the other parent. They will give you the rider switch pass. After that, you can come back and ride it a second time.

Keep in mind that the minimum age for riding alone is 7 years old. So you could take both your children on at once. I don't see why one of them taking their own row would be an issue on Splash Mountain, unless they don't want to or you as a parent are extremely uncomfortable with it. They wouldn't go anywhere. The lap bars on Splash Mountain are so loose that they don't touch my lap and I could get out if I wanted to. They are more a deterrent for people not jumping out of vehicles. But that is, of course, your decision as a parent :)

Thanks all for the info. Do you know.....do you talk to the CM out at the front for this (before you stand in the queue), or the CM right before they put you in the lines?

Problem with 3 across is, I'm not small, or regular...I'm a bit...well let's just say if I were a woman, people would ask how many weeks 'till I'm due :)

As for the kids....both get nervous and grab onto me while on the ride, so riding in their own row is usually out.

We'll see this year being a year older if either want to ride in their own row.

CM out front. They'll give you a pass that looks like a traditional FP. Then you'll go in with the other kid through the FP line. Whether you get it from the CM in front of the FP line or in the Standby line will depend on the attraction.

This is a little incorrect. You see the cast member before you get in line and tell them you are doing rider swap. They will give you a fast pass for the second time thru the ride. But the first ride you must go thru the stand by line. You best bet is when someone suggested doing a fastpass+ and taking your wifes wristband for the second ride.

U can get a ride swap pass from either stand by or FP line. U can certainly have a FP for a ride, and still get a ride swap pass if needed. Here is what we do since we r traveling with a baby who can't go on some of the bigger rides.

5 of us, me, my wife, our 2 boys, and our baby girl. We actually utilize the ride swap to the fullest! We schedule 2 bands for one ride, and 2 bands for another ride, and use the ride swap passes for the other 2 that didn't have the FP for the ride. Here's an example of that. 2 bands scheduled for splash mountain, 2 bands scheduled for big thunder mountain. The 2 people with the FP for that ride ride first and get a ride swap pass. When they are done, te 2 that didn't have a FP, use the ride swap pass to get on the ride. That way we get a few extra FPs instead of being limited to 3 to start with!!!

You don't have to go through Standby to do a Rider Switch. When it was traditional FP we would get FPs for all of us. Then we'd use two and get a rider switch. Then we'd use the other two and get another rider switch. I used to get a total of four rides per attraction.

And yes, I meant second time through you go through FP.
