Good Morning All. I've only stayed at three mods on my five visits,CBR,POFQ,and PORS. But I've been asked by friends about things to do at the resorts, recreation wise. Now at PORS you've got sailing on the Sassagoula river on Sea Racers or Pontoon Boats, there's a horse drawn carriage ride,or Tandems, there's even a fishing hole.So what other resort do you think has a great recreation thing going on?;)

Fort Wilderness---boat rentals, horse back riding, archery lessons, lots of room for biking, big porches with hoola-hoops and games for relaxing

You can't pool hop, but you can go to other resorts to rent boats, bikes, etc. for an afternoon. Twice, my dh and dd went over to Fort Wilderness for a canoe rental. It was a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

POFQ is my fav. Of course everything you mentioned above is great. They have a great pirate adventure where they take kids on water taxis to various locations looking for treasure. It is really well done. The kids get lunch and everthing. (Adults earn two hours to themselves;)) The pool at POFQ has water games for the kids with an extensive itinerary. My DS loved this in the afternoon! In the evening there is a campfire and a movie. The kids can make smores. Elliot Dyson plays about 20 diff instruments and entertains wed-sat.

OH that's what those things are!!!!!!!!
You've just reminded me of a story. On our first trip, our DS was learning to swim, and was doing great but we forgot to pack his " Water Wings " So this day in the small pool,I saw this kid with them on his arms, learning to swim with mummy so I asked " Hi there, where did you get your water wings?" It wasn't until she turned around did I notice that she was, hmm, how can I put this, sorta Dolly Parton on top.She laughed at said " Oh the arm bands " My face was red the rest of the day.:(

I think every resort has fun afternoon games at the pools now, and your kids are the perfect age for that. There are nightly movies at resorts too, also fun to do.
We do some of that I was talking cool stuff like the savanna tour at AKL or something more extreme. We do catch the movie at the pool and the day off most of the time.

All of the lagoon/lake resorts have excellent activities. Personally, I loved the activities for kids at AKL. They have planned bead activities where the kids partake and earn a bead necklace. There are all types of activities for African culture, education on animals, conservation, campfire stories. It is hard to beat the planned activities at AKL.
