Does anyone have experience with renting a car after you arrive at your resort? Like, if you wanted to have a car just for one day to go explore, are there rental outfits that would pick you up at your resort hotel to rent a car from a nearby location? If so, recommendations?

Alamo and National have pickup counters at the Swan and Dolphin Resort. Take a Disney bus from any theme park and pick it up there.

Go to the concierge desk they can help with the arrangements , Alamo is at car care and they have a van to pick you up at whatever resort you're at.

In addition to the Alamo/National desks, most other major rental companies have desks at hotels along Hotel Pkaza Blvd. Some offer van service (check the details for the location on the company's website), or you can walk from Disney Springs.

We rented from the Enterprise at the "B Resort and Spa". Since we were at Old Key West, it was only two miles away and they picked us up and dropped us off. Overall, it was an easy rental process and took no time at all. Only thing to remember is that you need to schedule the pick-up timely in advance. We had to wait about an hour for them to pick me up to get the car. It didn't matter to me as we didn't have any major plans but it could impact you if you have fastpasses or dining reservations.
