Wow! I had no idea that even still existed, in any form. Do you know if the landing strip is still potentially useable? I know it’s not registered for use any more.
Here is Stolport in 2002 when it could potentially still be used as a landing strip.

Since then, the port area has buildings and a parking lot and the strip has been used as a dumping ground for cargo containers and big rig parking.

Like any runway, they can go a long time without maintenance since they're so overbuilt. But yes, it was decommissioned decades ago. If it didn't have trucks/trailers/cars all over it, sure you could probably land a smaller plane on it (like really small private turbo prop, and that's pushing it) if it was an emergency situation. Then again, most would look for a highway, parking lot, or some open field.

I heard that upon landing the ridges in the runway will cause the tires to 'sing' out "When you wish upon a star". Kind of neat, one of those special only-disney-would-think-of touches.

I’d love to know if that’s true. I always thought it was a myth that’s grown up since it was decommissioned.

It is just a myth. At most there was just some testing/demonstration for cars after the runway was decommissioned.
