Random Blizzard Beach Closure

Anyone know why Blizzard Beach is just randomly closing from October 24-31? It is too short and too early for its usual downtime. Anyone have more information on this?

That is normal for the last 6 years I have had a Premium Annual TL or BB closed in late October and reopened around Christmas.

It was closed last year at that time too (we were on honeymoon)...however, isn't its usual scheduled rehab in January?

I wonder if it won't have as big a rehab this year, so Typhoon Lagoon can be closed longer for its rumored new ride/area/whatever?

Blizzard Beach closes first this year (two years ago and all years before, it closed second, from January to late February/early March) so that Typhoon Lagoon can close in early January and stay closed until perhaps April, giving them time 24/7 to build the new slide.

Im just hopin that in the next BB rehab they put in lighting and other required features so the park can open at nite. There is more about this more in the thread on the new ride at Typhoon Lagoon. I think though Disney could make a lot of money from having BB open to say 9 / 9.30.
